McDonald’s added a new pastry to their McCafe menu for a limited time; the Cheese Danish!
While a cheese danish isn’t the sort of item I’d typically order, I thought Kim should give it a try. The time seemed right when we stopped into McD’s to pickup a couple of Adult Happy Meals last week. The Cheese Danish is served hot but by the time we got home, it was barely warm. (I can’t blame the Golden Arches for this…)When we opened the box, I noticed that the vanilla drizzle was missing (like shown in the photo at the top of the post). Kim wondered if it disappeared/melted from the heat as it sat in the box. After looking (and smelling) the cheese danish, I figured that I’d give it a try. I was really impressed and ended up stealing half of the pastry.
The danish had really good flavor. It was sweet but not overly sweet. It also didn’t feel heavy. That’s definitely a good thing!Kim also really enjoyed the danish. The only negative was that she thought it could’ve been a bit more flaky. Definitely a minor complaint…
Final Thoughts:
The McDonald’s Cheese Danish was a very tasty and sweet surprise. It wasn’t an item that I thought I’d try but I’m really glad that I did. We plan to order it another time before it leaves the McD’s menu!
Lucas was disappointed that we didn’t save any for him to try. Maybe we will share next time.

When this was available decades ago, this item is best served cold, not hot!
Always let the cashier to serve this cold! The colder the better.
