Flight Diverted, Hero Pilot Orders Pizza For Passengers

Pizza
L’Industrie- (not ordered by Air Canada)

An Air Canada flight had to be diverted due to bad weather earlier in the week.

The plane was stuck on the tarmac for hours which probably led to some hungry and upset passengers. To help the situation, the pilot decided to have pizza delivered to the plane! Continue reading Flight Diverted, Hero Pilot Orders Pizza For Passengers

Generator Hostel Barcelona, A Solid Family-Friendly Option!

Generator HostelAfter flying to Barcelona at one of the worst times, we ran into a problem when Hotels.com screwed up our hotel reservation.

When we got to our hotel, they claimed to not have any booking from Hotels.com for us. Due to this they only had a room available for the first night. We had a reservation at Generator Hostel for the last two days of our trip so I figured that we’d just try to book a room there for our first two.

We ended up booking a private room with two bunk beds and an ensuite bathroom. Continue reading Generator Hostel Barcelona, A Solid Family-Friendly Option!

#1 Rated Burger Coming To NYC, Au Cheval Opens In Tribeca This Week!

Not the burger from Au Cheval

When traveling around the US, I’m always on the hunt for the best burgers.

In Connecticut, we love dining at Louis’ Lunch, known as being the place where the hamburger was created. A few other gems can be eaten at Holeman & Finch in Atlanta, Workingman’s Friend in Indianapolis and Husk in Charleston.

There are lots of great burgers available in NYC. Two great options are the lunch- only burger at Peter Luger in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Keen’s in Midtown. (FYI- both restaurants have been open since the 1880s.) Continue reading #1 Rated Burger Coming To NYC, Au Cheval Opens In Tribeca This Week!

Shake Shack Now Has A Couple Of Food Trucks!

Shake ShackIt’s no secret that Shake Shack is my favorite fast- casual burger out there. Shake Shack is also tops for my family. Find out about a super- proud Dad moment I had inspired by Shack.

We’ve tried Shacks in foreign countries like the United Arab Emirates, Qatar and South Korea. Besides their stand alone locations, we’ve also enjoyed their burgers and shakes at malls and airports like JFK Terminal 4 in NYC.

I recently received an e-mail from Shake Shack about a new way to get your burger fix. Continue reading Shake Shack Now Has A Couple Of Food Trucks!

I Got The Dreaded SSSS On My Boarding Pass & It Wasn’t So Bad

SSSSLast week, the Michael W Travels family flew home from Barcelona to NYC with a stop in London.

During our journey, we encountered a flight delay which caused some issues. (Possibly more on that another time…)

When looking over our boarding passes, four letters stood out for my flight from London (LHR) to New York (JFK), SSSS. Continue reading I Got The Dreaded SSSS On My Boarding Pass & It Wasn’t So Bad

Disappointing Priority Pass Lounge: Bobby Van’s Grill- JFK Airport

priority passIn 2017 I wrote a review of what I considered to be the most interesting Priority Pass lounge we ever visited.

The lounge I am referring to was actually a restaurant at London Gatwick Airport. The way a visit worked was that with your membership, you received a £15 credit. Guests of the  card holder also receive this credit off the bill.

When I heard that Bobby Van’s Grill at JFK Airport had become a Priority Pass lounge, I wanted to visit but it just never worked out until our recent flight to Barcelona. Continue reading Disappointing Priority Pass Lounge: Bobby Van’s Grill- JFK Airport

Hotels.com Screws Up Reservation, Worst Time To Fly To Europe, French Version Of McD’s, Win A Virgin Voyages Trip To Cuba, Win A Trip For 4 To Dublin & More- The Rehash!

rehashOver President’s Week Break, the Michael W Travels family took a trip to Spain (Barcelona) and Andorra.

It was really great revisiting the first city I ever went to in Europe. We also had an excellent but short visit to Andorra. This tiny country has some fun things to see and do. We actually could’ve used another day there. I guess we could always go back some day.

How has your week gone when it comes to miles, points and travel? Continue reading Hotels.com Screws Up Reservation, Worst Time To Fly To Europe, French Version Of McD’s, Win A Virgin Voyages Trip To Cuba, Win A Trip For 4 To Dublin & More- The Rehash!
