The last time we visited the was during Open House NY in October 2013. TWA Flight Center
The terminal was last available for tours in 2015 before construction got underway to transform the property into the TWA Hotel.
The hotel opened in mid-May 2019 and I’ve been hoping to visit ever since but we just haven’t gotten around to it.

In a couple of weeks, the TWA Hotel at JFK Airport will be adding a new winter activity which should appeal to aviation buffs and those just looking to have some fun.
The hotel will debut their Runway Rink where “
visitors and guests can take a spin on the tarmac around the hotel’s 1958 Lockheed Constellation Connie!” airplane (now a cocktail lounge) and then watch an ice skating spectacular Continue reading Go Ice Skating On The Runway at the TWA Hotel
A couple of months back, I wrote about . a disappointing Priority Pass Lounge, Bobby Van’s Grill at JFK Airport
BVG isn’t a typical Priority Pass Lounge, it’s a restaurant where members get a $28 credit. If you bring a guest, multiply it times 2 and you have $56 to spend during your visit.
While we weren’t happy with our selections, Kim and I figured another visit would be in order in the near future.

In 2017 I wrote a review of what I considered to be . the most interesting Priority Pass lounge we ever visited
The lounge I am referring to was actually a restaurant at London Gatwick Airport. The way a visit worked was that with your membership, you received a £15 credit. Guests of the card holder also receive this credit off the bill.
When I heard that Bobby Van’s Grill at JFK Airport had become a Priority Pass lounge, I wanted to visit but it just never worked out until our recent flight to Barcelona.

Back in 2013 Delta opened a nice outdoor space at the Sky Club at JFK Airport called the Sky Deck. Check out my post about it
While I enjoyed visiting the Sky Deck, I haven’t been back since I haven’t flown much out of T4 and also no longer have access to the lounge…
Today was a big day at JFK Airport as a new outdoor space opened by JetBlue at T5. Best of all is that the T5 Rooftop is open to all- no lounge membership or status needed!

Here is some potentially great news for New York’s JFK Airport…
Kim forwarded me an article from Gothamist that JFK might be getting a place to get some “recreating and relaxation”.
JetBlue is planning to build its own mini-Highline in the airport!
