Hotels.com is one of our favorite sites to use to book hotel stays if we’re not booking direct or staying in a hostel or Airbnb. (*You can actually book some hostels on the site, too.)
We find Hotels.com to offer competitive prices while also offering a pretty solid rewards program. For every 10 stays you complete, a free night is earned valued at the average of the 10 nights you booked during this time. (Look at the reward as a 10% rebate.)
While booking a room over the weekend, I tried applying a reward to a booking. I headed over the the Hotels.com app and encountered some issues. (Find out why it pays to book your reward stay through the app here.) Continue reading Hotels.com Reward Booking Headache Ends With Great Customer Service
When we’re not booking hotels directly through the property’s site, I try to use Hotels.com for my bookings due to their loyalty program.
With their loyalty program, “after collecting 10 nights, you’ll get 1 reward night to redeem at any eligible property.” The reward night is worth the average value of the 10 nights you had booked. Continue reading Hotels.com Making Changes To Loyalty Program
Recently, I shared the details about how Hotels.com totally screwed up our reservation in Barcelona.
A quick summary of what took place
After an overnight flight, the Michael W Travels family showed up early in the morning at our hotel in Barcelona. When we tried to check- in, we were told that we didn’t have a reservation. Continue reading Hotels.com Reaches Out About Screwed Up Reservation In Barcelona
Hotels.com is currently running the Winter Swear Jar Sweepstakes.
In the sweepstakes up to 10 winners will win a $1,000 Hotels.com gift card! (If you win a prize, I hope that you don’t run into the issue we recently had with a booking.)
The way the sweepstakes works is that Hotels.com will search Twitter for a complaint about winter that includes a swear word. Continue reading Win A $1,000 Hotels.com Gift Card In The Swear Jar Sweepstakes
Over President’s Week break, the Michael W Travels family headed to Barcelona and Andorra.
While originally planning the trip, we booked a five night stay at a small hotel from Hotels.com. As we started doing more research, plans changed so we ended up having to change our hotel reservation. Continue reading How Hotels.com Totally Screwed Up Our Reservation In Barcelona

Many of us do the bulk of our shopping online. And one thing everyone should be doing is making one extra stop before going to the website they want to shop at.
For Amazon, we shop through a JetBlue link and for most others we use either Ebates or TopCashBack.
TopCashBack tends to be the site we shop through most since they usually offer a higher percent back on purchases. Continue reading TopCashBack Redemption- What Would You Choose?
When Kim and I are searching for hotels and can’t find one using points or for a decent price, we’ll often turn to Hotels.com.
We find Hotels.com to offer lots of smaller hotels at good prices. We also like that they offer various promos where you can save even more. They also have their own rewards programs where you earn one free night (in the form of a credit) for every 10 nights you book with them. Continue reading Earn 5X Miles & Points with Hotels.com
