When most people think of pizza destinations, I think it’s fair to say that New York and Italy primarily come to mind.
If I’m thinking about pizza around the US, the places I think of most would be New York (really Brooklyn), Chicago and Connecticut.
Around five or six years back, I heard about an area in Pennsylvania dubbing themself the Pizza Capital of the World! I had to find out for myself about the area by taking a trip to Old Forge, PA.

Last month, I wrote about . The restaurant is located in NYC’s East Harlem neighborhood which is a bit of a trip for us from our home in Brooklyn. how my family got to eat a meal from NYC’s most exclusive restaurant
Whenever we find ourselves so far uptown, there’s a pizzeria that we have to visit. Grabbing a pie (or a few slices) from Patsy’s Pizzeria is a real treat and also pretty much a bargain.

I’m always on the lookout for great new pizza close to home and while traveling.
We’re pretty lucky with the fact that Brooklyn pizza is some of the best you’ll come across just about anywhere. There’s also plenty of great shops in Manhattan and the other boroughs.
We also like going on trips to Connecticut, Philadelphia and (to a lesser extent) New Jersey in search of great pizza.

I came across the pizzeria Benny Tudinos years back and made a note of it due to it’s massive slice.

Di Fara Pizza, located in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, NY is considered to be one of the best pizzerias in the country.
The pizzeria is in a bizarre location considering that it’s located is a predominately Jewish area with just about all kosher shops. Regardless, people frequently make the trek to Avenue J to try a slice.
Years back, it made headlines for charging $5 per slice which is definitely pricey for pizza but not overly ridiculous these days.
