Before heading off on our trip to the Balkans, I had read that Slovenia had excellent pizza. This was in part due to the country being so close to Italy.
I pinned a few places in the capital Ljubljana for us to consider trying.
While walking around during our first day in search of one of the shops, we came across Pop’s Place, a restaurant which serves Neapolitan Pizza.

Besides travel, pizza and baseball are a couple of my other favorite hobbies.
Traveling doesn’t always mean getting on a plane or even driving very far. Sometimes, we go on pizza tours, visiting multiple shops in one day. We started doing this more over the past year or so, since we had been grounded during the pandemic.
While I believe New York has the best pizza in the world, great pizza can also be found in states close to home like Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

David Chang’s Momofuku Ko, located in NYC’s East Village, has held two Michelin stars since 2009.
When I heard that they were offering pizza, it immediately became a must-try on my list. While pizza isn’t a part of the menu that Michelin recognized the restaurant for, I thought it would be fun to say that we had pizza from a Michelin starred restaurant!
