I hope that everyone had a nice Columbus Day Weekend.
Over the weekend, we spent a couple of nights at a Hilton property in Binghamton, NY. Super glamorous, don’t ya think? 🙂
This was our first time visiting Binghamton (we went to visit my niece who’s in school there). While there isn’t a ton to do in the area, we had a fun time being with a lot of family! This past weekend we headed to the Bronx for the 2nd annual New York Pizza Festival.
Shops from around the United States and Italy set up in the streets close to the borough’s Little Italy. This is a great event where you don’t have to go very far to try pizza from all over!
I’m a a bit behind on my pizza posts but I’m hoping to catch up this week. Continue reading The Case Of The Missing Amex Offers, Brooklyn Pizza Scene Gets Even Better, Legoland NY’s Opening Date, TWA Hotel’s New Room- The Rehash!
When I go onto TripIt, the only upcoming plans we currently have are for a two-night stay in upstate NY. (Not exactly the most exciting trip although we do expect to have a good time!)
It doesn’t look like our next flights will be until winter break. That’s still a few months away and I have no idea yet where we might go, but I’m OK with that. A little over a year back I wrote a post wondering, will hotels get rid of mini shampoo bottles.
Over the past few years, we’ve noticed more and more properties offering wall mounted soap and shampoo rather than the mini bottles. While we don’t love this system, it is better for the environment. Continue reading Mini Soap Bottles Could Soon Be Banned At New York Hotels
Yesterday I tried logging into my IHG account but ran into some trouble. From what I recall, the last time I checked out my account was just before we left for our month long trip around South Asia (figure mid-July 2019).
When I went to log in through Award Wallet, I got a message that my pin didn’t match! This made little sense but I then attempted to reset my pin. I then ran into another issue. When I typed my e-mail in for the reset, I received a message that the e-mail didn’t match for my account!
Once this happened, I figured that while we were away, my account must’ve been hacked! Continue reading Hacked! 140,000 IHG Rewards Points Were Stolen From My Account
Hilton Hotels has various brands among their properties. However, one of them has been a favorite of ours due to a tasty snack given out to guests.
During our most recent visit to a Doubletree in Philadelphia almost a year back, we enjoyed their famous cookies at check-in, checkout and when we came back from dinner one night.
The cookies are a nice touch which kids and adults both love (at least in the Michael W Travels family)! Continue reading Hilton Hotels Has A Cookie-Themed Suite At One Property!
After returning from our month long trip around South Asia a few weeks back, I’m a bit behind on writing about our interesting adventure.
I’m hoping to write more about our experiences in future posts.
2019 is probably my weakest year for credit card sign up bonuses. I’m currently considering a deal where I can upgrade a card I currently have for a significant amount of bonus points. It’s been an uneventful week here when it comes to travel but Lucas had an interesting experience at a New York Mets game on Saturday related to Korea.
Let me explain…
Lucas and I showed up early at Citi Field and a family in front of us on line started asking us when the gates opened. After a few minutes, I noticed a group bringing lots of boxes of shirts towards the gate. I mentioned that it looked like some sort of giveaway. This is the first time in a while that I’ve logged into TripIt to see the app say No Upcoming Trips!
Besides some potential short weekend getaways, I don’t plan on traveling (flying) again until winter break. That seems like a long time from now. I have no ideas yet as to where we might go so I’ll definitely start looking into some things soon.
