Fodor’s Places To Go List 2015

places to go

Have you been thinking about where to travel next year? We’re pretty much booked up through the summer of 2015 already!

With the new year just days away it seems appropriate that I just came across another places to go list for 2015.

I’ve posted a few lists like:

While I love reading places to go lists, they don’t tend to influence where we go. That’s based more-so on visiting places we haven’t been to yet as well as award availability and coming across great deals/ mistake fares. Continue reading Fodor’s Places To Go List 2015

10 Most Tagged Destinations on Instagram in 2014

tag instagramI’m not much of an Instagram user and maybe that’s the case since I don’t quite get how it works. However, it is an extremely popular app. (Maybe one of the most popular for photo sharing?)

According to USA Today, over 60 million photos are shared each day through Instagram. Pretty amazing, right? Continue reading 10 Most Tagged Destinations on Instagram in 2014

Stupidest Reason To Get Kicked Off Flight, Watch The Interview NOW, North Korea Called Obama WHAT?, Best Flight Connection Ever & More- The Rehash

This has been  a pretty exciting last week of the year when it comes to travel.

We’re currently on our last trip of the year in Jamaica! While we were on the way here from New York, I ended up booking a flight for a trip that we’ll be going on later in the year! Pretty fun stuff…

As 2014 is coming to a close , flights for the majority of our 2015 travels are already in place! Booking the flights are usually the easy part, deciding on itineraries and choosing accommodations tend to be the harder part of travel (though still a lot of fun). I’ve been receiving a lot of holiday messages from airlines, travel companies and a slew of other businesses over the past week or so.

One of them arrived in my inbox yesterday from Avianca. It included the really cute image shown above but there was one major problem. Continue reading Avianca Happy Holidays Video, Can Somebody Translate?

Best Gifts for Travelers, Unique Airbnbs, Big IHG News, What Foreign Tourists Think of U.S. & More- The Rehash

A birthday has passed, we’re setting out on our final trip of 2014 later in the week and I booked a flight for us for April to a destination I’ve been itching to get to for years. Overall, this has been a really busy and fun week.

Last week I mentioned ordering a guidebook before booking the flights for a potential trip. Well the tickets are booked so the guide will get some use like I assumed it would!

I hope that everyone celebrating Hanukkah has enjoyed the holiday so far. And for those of you celebrating Christmas, I hope that you’re close to finishing up (or finished) with your holiday shopping. What Do Foreign Tourists Think of U.S.

visit USA

Ever wonder what foreigners think of Americans or better yet, the United States as a whole?

While I have some ideas of what the generalized ugly American (while traveling or at home) might appear to look like, these ideas are usually just bad stereotypes. (To get some ideas, check out the post Worst Things Americans Say On Vacation.)

When I think of what foreigners might think of us, I’d probably guess loud, out of shape, entitled, rude and some other (not so nice) things along those lines. Continue reading What Do Foreign Tourists Think of U.S.

Spend A Night In One of These Unique Airbnb Options

unique airbnbWhen it comes to picking where to stay, the options can be limitless…

Our options can range from hostels to basic hotels to luxury. Then there are the more unique places to stay- tree houses, ice hotels, hotels housed in former prisons. You get the idea.

These days it’s not so odd to stay in someone else’s home with sites like CouchSurfing (I’ve never tried it) and Airbnb (a personal favorite).  Continue reading Spend A Night In One of These Unique Airbnb Options

Legendary Toy Stores For All Ages

I have to admit that I still really love toys and games. Being that I’m a Special Ed teacher for young children, one of the best parts of my job is that a good amount of my time at work has to do with playing!

I also love buying new toys for Lucas. I can’t resist when I see something that I just know will bring a huge smile to his face. Lucas is now into Duplos so it’s definitely fun building with him! Continue reading Legendary Toy Stores For All Ages

I’m down to one week of work before I have my winter break! Prior to heading off on our final international trip of the year, I’ll have a few days at home to relax. (When we travel, relaxing isn’t usually on the itinerary!)

I did something that I’ve never done before. I ordered a guidebook before booking flights for a trip next year. (Yes, I still like guidebooks.) I had a 25% off coupon for Barnes & Noble, got 8% cash back from TopCashback and found a bunch of B&N giftcards at home so it led to buying the book before we know if we’re definitely going to the destination!
