Last week I wrote how many countries were placing restrictions on US visitors. As things start to pick up, it still won’t be easy for tourists to visit various destinations.

Barcelona Supposedly Has Some Big Tourist Problems

Barcelona holds a special place in my heart since it was the first city in Europe I visited. After that trip, I couldn’t wait to travel and see more of the world.

Last week I wrote about two Chinese tourists who were arrested in Germany for doing a Nazi salute. I was happy to hear that they faced some sort of punishment for doing this hateful pose.

What Do Foreign Tourists Think of U.S.

Ever wonder what foreigners think of Americans or better yet, the United States as a whole?

While I have some ideas of what the generalized ugly American (while traveling or at home) might appear to look like, these ideas are usually just bad stereotypes. (To get some ideas, check out the post Worst Things Americans Say On Vacation.)

Worst Things Americans Say on Vacation

I’ll admit that there are times that I cringe when I see that a really bad caricature of an American tourist in real life while traveling around the world.

(Think Hawaiian shirt, socks with sandals, loud and a know-it all personality just to name a few things to look out for.)

Most would (generally speaking) stereotype American tourists as loud, obnoxious, self-absorbed and poorly dressed, usually standing out and easily identified while visiting a foreign country.
