$908 Cab Ride & Passenger Would Uber Again

Uber rides

I’ve read and written about quite a few pricey Uber rides caused by Surge Pricing but this has to be the priciest ride that I’ve come acroos to date…

An Ole Miss football fan was in Atlanta for the Peach Bowl on December 31. Not only did his team get destroyed in a 42-3 loss, he also went on possibly the most costly Uber ride ever. Continue reading $908 Cab Ride & Passenger Would Uber Again

Suicide On JetBlue Flight Stopped By Cops Flying Home From NYPD Funeral

attempted suicide

This story is definitely a bit scary or crazy…

Three police officers from Utah were flying home to Salt Lake City from the funeral of a NYPD officer when they had to step-in to help save a woman trying to commit suicide during the flight.

The officers were flying with JetBlue since the airline made a generous offer to fly in police officers from around the country to attend the funerals of two NYPD officers slain in Brooklyn last month. Continue reading Suicide On JetBlue Flight Stopped By Cops Flying Home From NYPD Funeral

top events in United StatesWhen I come across interesting articles and info, there are times that I’ll e-mail them to myself to reread and possibly write about. I came across one such article that I thought would make for a fun blog post a few days back.

I was reminded of this article  when I received a message from my friend Brian that writes the BoardingArea blog, The Gate.

So what could be so interesting that I e-mailed myself about and also received a message about??? Continue reading Top Events In Each State for 2015

Uber Surge Pricing on NYE, Should Riders Be Annoyed?

Uber Surge Pricing

With New Year’s Eve being a crazy night for drinking and partying, Uber’s Surge Pricing was bound to make an appearance.

The thing I’ll say is that Uber did a good job sending out e-mails and letting customers know in advance about the coming surge.

I decided to write a post about this as a warning, BEWARE: Uber Surge Pricing Tonight, New Year’s Eve. Continue reading Uber Surge Pricing on NYE, Should Riders Be Annoyed?

Countries That Drink the Most

While I don’t drink so much anymore, I still found these alcohol statistics to be pretty interesting.

When it comes to drinking, these days I usually go with a beer. It’s a good time to like beer with newer, local breweries popping up all over the United States.

If I don’t go with a beer, my drink of choice tends to be vodka mixed with either tonic (or Red Bull if I’m feeling a bit tired). Continue reading Countries That Drink the Most

2014 Most Popular Destinations According to Facebook

Facebook check in
image from USA Today Article- Facebook

Earlier in the week (or some might say, last year) I wrote about the 10 most tagged destinations on Instagram in 2014. Many of the most tagged destinations weren’t what I’d consider overly exciting places. To me they are more like popular places for meeting up.

While I love baseball, I wouldn’t expect two stadiums to be among the most tagged destinations in the world. Nor would I consider shopping malls to be either… Continue reading 2014 Most Popular Destinations According to Facebook

The definition of a tourist trap according to Merriam-Webster is “a place that attracts many tourists and that charges high prices“.

Many places and attractions that we visit might be considered tourist traps yet many people keep going. Why is that? Are the places really a tourist trap if most people find them enjoyable and worth their time? Continue reading 10 Worst Tourist Traps in America
