AAA’s Popular Destinations, Guidebooks, AAdvantage eShopping Offer, Flight Diverted By Credit Cards, NY Licenses for Domestic Flights & More- The Rehash!

Rehash

There hasn’t been much doing for us over the past week when it comes to miles & points. However, we did have a fun weekend playing tourist in NYC thanks to Open House New York.

We spent most of the day on Saturday checking out some interesting sites around Queens and then visited a fun museum in Brooklyn on Sunday.

Currently I dont have any flights booked for any future trips. Lucas keeps on asking where our next trip is! I really need to change this and start getting some things planned!  Continue reading AAA’s Popular Destinations, Guidebooks, AAdvantage eShopping Offer, Flight Diverted By Credit Cards, NY Licenses for Domestic Flights & More- The Rehash!

You DID NOT Win An All Expenses Paid Trip to Paris

aeromexico

A rather odd e-mail arrived in my inbox earlier in the day from Aeromexico.

The random e-mail that I received from Aeromexico was in Spanish. When I signed up to receive e-mail alerts from the airline, I’d assume that it asked my location and language. This makes me wonder why I don’t get messages from them in English.

So the subject was “Aviso Importante” (Important Announcement). Continue reading You DID NOT Win An All Expenses Paid Trip to Paris

Etihad Biz Class Upgrade Offer At Check-In

Etihad Business Class Upgrade

Just before we left on our trip to the Middle East Gulf States (booked during what I’d consider the best flight connection ever), I had an interesting e-mail from Etihad.

They actually sent me the offer multiple times.

Etihad was offering me the chance to upgrade to business class by essentially bidding for the seats. By making Etihad an offer between $1,100 – $1,800 each way, I could potentially be sitting in a comfy biz class seat rather than in coach. Continue reading Etihad Biz Class Upgrade Offer At Check-In

May the Force Be With Uber, Today in NYC…

Star Wars

Besides surge pricing, Uber is best known to me for their strange, fun and interesting random special offers that they have from time to time. (I’m thinking of  kitten delivery, Christmas Trees, air conditioners and they’ll even bring you lunch!)

I wouldn’t consider myself to be the biggest Uber fan. After first trying out Uber, I asked if someone could explain the big deal? After this ride in which I was overcharged, Uber refunded me $24. Continue reading May the Force Be With Uber, Today in NYC…

Man Fined $400 For Inflight Reclining Seat Fight

One inflight debate which seems to bring strong feelings from both sides is the right to recline your seat (during a flight).

Some people feel that it is rude to recline your seat while others feel that if the seat reclines then it is your right to do so.

While I might not recline during a flight or recline all of the way if I do, I’d have to say that I’ll side with those that feel, if the seat reclines, then I’m allowed to. Continue reading Man Fined $400 For Inflight Reclining Seat Fight

Most Underrated Tourist Attraction in Each State

Tourist Attractions
The Shit Fountain didn’t make the cut

When visiting a city or state there are certain sights that you’d expect just about every tourist to visit.

For example, I’d expect most visitors to New York to go to Times Square and visit the Statue of Liberty. In an even more obvious pick, I think we’d all agree that all visitors that go to Orlando will check out Disney World. It’s most likely the reason they are in the city…

While each state might have its share of famous and touristy sights what about sights worth seeing which might be considered underrated?

Thrillist took a look at The Most Underrated Tourist Attraction In All 50 States. Continue reading Most Underrated Tourist Attraction in Each State

Danny Meyer Opening Food Hall in NYC

Met Danny Meyer at the T4 opening

Food Halls are a hot topic in New York City these days and new ones seem to be popping up all over.

Some of the more well know food halls are Eataly, Gotham West and Chelsea Market.

My personal favorite would probably be Berg’n in Brooklyn, NY. It only has a handful of vendors but all are top-notch. The only problem is that they are starting to rotate some of my favorite vendors- Pizza Moto is now gone and my other fave, Ramen Burger is supposed to be moving on at the end of next month. Police Taser Man at LAX, Mini-Me Verne Troyer Films Incident

Mini-Me Verne Troyer

A man got past security at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and wouldn’t comply with officers to stop so they eventually had to use a taser on him.

This must’ve been a scary incident for passengers, especially those with young kids to see.

It seems like everything gets caught on film these days so it’s no surprise that the incident was too… Continue reading Police Taser Man at LAX, Mini-Me Verne Troyer Films Incident

Biggest Threat To World Heritage: ISIS

UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Whenever I visit a new place I make sure to check out the UNESCO World Heritage list to see if any places nearby are on the list.

For those of you unsure of what the UNESCO World Heritage List is, here’s a description.

According to UNESCO:

World Heritage is the designation for places on Earth that are of outstanding universal value to humanity and as such, have been inscribed on the World Heritage List to be protected for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. Places as diverse and unique as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, the Taj Mahal in India, the Grand Canyon in the USA, or the Acropolis in Greece are examples of the 1007 natural and cultural places inscribed on the World Heritage List to date“.
