The World’s #1 Ranked Traveler

BBC Travel

Early in 2015 I wrote about what some might consider the most traveled man in the world. However, most traveled might not be completely accurate. Fred Finn might just be the most flown person since he’s flown over 16 million miles so far!

In early 2014 I brought you an interview with the youngest American to visit every country in the world, Lee Abbamonte. Now I’d definitely consider Lee one of the most traveled people. He’s visited every country and is still frequently traveling to far-flung places, trying to become the youngest to complete the Travelers Century Club list.

There are many other big-time travelers out there and BBC Travel tells us about The World’s Number One Ranked Traveler. I don’t know about you, but I hadn’t a clue that there was such a designation out there! Continue reading The World’s #1 Ranked Traveler

Plagiarism, SNL Ticket Lottery, Delta Hunting Trophies Ban, Falcon Passports, French Beach Reopens, America’s 75 Top Hot Dogs & More- The Rehash!

Rehash

One week from tomorrow we head off on our last trip of the summer. Our first stop will be Abu Dhabi. From there we’ll visit three more countries before heading back to the UAE to visit more of the country.

Our trip planning is coming along nicely but we still have a hotel or two to book along with possibly getting a rental car for one of our stops. Decisions, decisions…

It’s been a bit of a strange week over here after being wrongfully accused of something I did not do. My response would be Plagiarism, I don’t think soContinue reading Plagiarism, SNL Ticket Lottery, Delta Hunting Trophies Ban, Falcon Passports, French Beach Reopens, America’s 75 Top Hot Dogs & More- The Rehash!

In a little over a week, Kim, Lucas and I will be heading off on probably our biggest trip of the year.

On Christmas Day, I had what could be considered the best flight connection ever. During a stop in Atlanta (on the way to Jamaica) I booked tickets to Abu Dhabi from NYC for $232.53 each.

During our trip, we’ll be visiting Abu Dhabi, other Emirates and a few other countries in the region. It’s going to be really hot but we’re still looking forward to our trip! Continue reading In the UAE, Falcons Get Passports

10 Best Inflight Wine Programs

Wine Enthusiast

While I am not a fan of wine I’m sure that many of you enjoy a glass or two both at home and during a flight.

My knowledge of wine more or less consists of red or white. I couldn’t tell you the difference between Merlot, Malbec (one of Kim’s favorites), Riesling or Pinot nor do I really have much interest in finding out!

However, I came across an article from Wine Enthusiast which might be of interest to you flying wine lovers out there… Continue reading 10 Best Inflight Wine Programs

There’s A Boeing Seattle Seahawks Freight Plane

I’ve written a few times of airlines like Southwest having specialty fleets painted to commemorate a variety of things.

Southwest introduced us to Missouri One earlier this year. Here was a look at the airline’s specialty planes fleet back in 2013, some of which no longer exist.

JetBlue showed off a plane called Blue Bravest to support the FDNY Foundation in 2013.

There are many other airlines with specially painted planes and today Boeing brought back a very cool plane. Continue reading There’s A Boeing Seattle Seahawks Freight Plane

At midnight today (July 20) full diplomatic relations were restored between the US and Cuba according to ABC News.

According to the article, “the diplomatic missions of each country were upgraded from interests sections to embassies“.

The Cuban flag was hung at the State Department by maintenance workers among the flags of other countries that the US has “diplomatic relations with” . Continue reading Full Diplomatic Relations Restored Between US and Cuba

AA/Southwest 3500 Mile Bonus, Delta Makes Flying Better, $400 Fine Reclining Seat Fight, Uber Refund, America’s Best Burgers & More- The Rehash!

Rehash

There isn’t much to report on a personal level when it comes to miles, points and travel over the past week. I didn’t apply for any new cards or make any progress in finishing off the plans on our next trip coming up in the middle of August.

Last weekend I tried loading my Target REDcard in New Jersey. Not so surprisingly, the Target in Jersey City let me load a couple of gift cards without asking any questions or making up any rules. In fact, the cashier was happy to help! I wish it was this easy close to home in Brooklyn! Top Tourist Attraction In Each State

Tourist attraction

In recent years I’ve been trying to see more of the U.S. It’s impressive to think about just how many amazing sites and places the country has to see.

To date I’ve been to 32 states and just a handful of National Parks. In the future I’d like to complete visiting every state as well as see many of the parks.

Each state seems to have  something interesting or which makes it stand out. Some might have the famous national parks, monuments, stadiums or even a well-known food dish. Continue reading Top Tourist Attraction In Each State

Overbilled 30 Minutes, Uber Refunds Me…

Uber Scam

On July 4, Kim, Lucas and I had a long layover in Miami on the way home from our trip to Nicaragua.

During the layover I wondered if it was better to rent a car or use Uber.

We ended up going with Uber, only taking two rides. Our cars showed up within minutes and both drivers seemed very nice and had clean cars. It seemed like a good move to not bother renting a car….

When we got dropped off back at Miami International Airport I noticed a problem. After the ride, I didn’t receive an e-mail from Uber with our trip details including the price… Continue reading Overbilled 30 Minutes, Uber Refunds Me…

How Delta’s Making Flying Better

Delta Airlines

Over the weekend I wrote about 5 Ways Airlines Are Making Flying Worse.

The post was about an article from MarketWatch which made some interesting points while others seemed to be just a bit ridiculous….

After MarketWatch wrote their article, there was a post which was something like a rebuttal on Delta News Hub from the editor, Charles Gay about How Delta’s Making Flying Better.

Is Delta Airlines really making flying better? Let’s take a look. Continue reading How Delta’s Making Flying Better
