Back on Christmas Day 2014 I booked a flight to Abu Dhabi during what I’d consider the best flight connection ever.

Kim, Lucas and I recently got back from our trip to the Middle East Gulf States and I wanted to share the details about how we planned the trip along with the costs involved including miles, points and cash (well credit cards…).

In a little over a week, Kim, Lucas and I will be heading off on probably our biggest trip of the year.

On Christmas Day, I had what could be considered the best flight connection ever. During a stop in Atlanta (on the way to Jamaica) I booked tickets to Abu Dhabi from NYC for $232.53 each.

On Christmas Day, I booked a flight at an incredible price to Abu Dhabi for this summer.

The flight was booked while we stopped in Atlanta on the way to Jamaica for our winter trip. I’d consider this one of our best flight connections ever!

The Abu Dhabi deal I am talking about was a pretty popular mistake booking. Just an FYI- If you’re flying Etihad to Abu Dhabi, you can get a free ride to two of the other Emirates for free!
