Trying The Top Rated Burger In America At Au Cheval NYC

Au ChevalA couple of weeks back, the #1 rated burger in America came to NYC when Au Cheval opened in Tribeca.

I’ve long wanted to take another trip to Chicago and try Au Cheval’s cheeseburger. While I still want to go to Chicago again, trying this popular burger became much easier for me.

Last weekend the Michael W Travels family headed to Tribeca with the hopes of getting into Au Cheval without much of a wait for brunch. Continue reading Trying The Top Rated Burger In America At Au Cheval NYC

Food Review: The Cheeseburger (& Wings) at Old Town Bar in NYC

Old TownBefore having kids, Kim and I used to go to the historic Old Town Bar (which has been around since 1892) for a drink from time to time. However, we didn’t realize that they served food back then. And when we did find out, we didn’t know that it was supposed to be really good.

A bit later on, I started reading that Old Town Bar served a really good burger. Considering how much I love burgers, I’ve wanted to give it a try for years but the timing was never right. Continue reading Food Review: The Cheeseburger (& Wings) at Old Town Bar in NYC

#1 Rated Burger Coming To NYC, Au Cheval Opens In Tribeca This Week!

Not the burger from Au Cheval

When traveling around the US, I’m always on the hunt for the best burgers.

In Connecticut, we love dining at Louis’ Lunch, known as being the place where the hamburger was created. A few other gems can be eaten at Holeman & Finch in Atlanta, Workingman’s Friend in Indianapolis and Husk in Charleston.

There are lots of great burgers available in NYC. Two great options are the lunch- only burger at Peter Luger in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and Keen’s in Midtown. (FYI- both restaurants have been open since the 1880s.) Continue reading #1 Rated Burger Coming To NYC, Au Cheval Opens In Tribeca This Week!

Disappointing Priority Pass Lounge: Bobby Van’s Grill- JFK Airport

priority passIn 2017 I wrote a review of what I considered to be the most interesting Priority Pass lounge we ever visited.

The lounge I am referring to was actually a restaurant at London Gatwick Airport. The way a visit worked was that with your membership, you received a £15 credit. Guests of the  card holder also receive this credit off the bill.

When I heard that Bobby Van’s Grill at JFK Airport had become a Priority Pass lounge, I wanted to visit but it just never worked out until our recent flight to Barcelona. Continue reading Disappointing Priority Pass Lounge: Bobby Van’s Grill- JFK Airport

A Visit To The French Version of McD’s, Quick Burger Restaurant

QuickWhen visiting international destinations, I always visit McDonald’s to check out what local menu items might be available.

We also like to try local fast food burger shops. I haven’t written about many of them but  you can check out my review of one in Bahrain here.

During a recent trip to France, we had a long list of places to dine at. One that I hoped to try was the French version of McDonald’s called Quick. Continue reading A Visit To The French Version of McD’s, Quick Burger Restaurant

Food Review: The Cheeseburger At Keens Steakhouse

keens steakhouseKeens Steakhouse is one of the oldest restaurants in NYC, founded in 1885.

Keens is famous for their outstanding mutton chop which Kim and I tried a few years back and really enjoyed. There is another item on their pub menu which I’ve wanted to try for quite some time.

I finally got to try the cheeseburger at Keens Steakhouse and in no way did it disappoint! Continue reading Food Review: The Cheeseburger At Keens Steakhouse

Could An American Fast Food Burger Chain Open In North Korea?

Fast FoodA summit between Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un might be on again for June 12 in Singapore.

At the summit, might Trump convince the North Koreans to give up their nukes? It’s possible, but Grub Street points out that “as “a consolation prize“, the isolated country might allow an American fast food burger chain to open in Pyongchang!
