What Do Foreign Tourists Think of U.S.

visit USA

Ever wonder what foreigners think of Americans or better yet, the United States as a whole?

While I have some ideas of what the generalized ugly American (while traveling or at home) might appear to look like, these ideas are usually just bad stereotypes. (To get some ideas, check out the post Worst Things Americans Say On Vacation.)

When I think of what foreigners might think of us, I’d probably guess loud, out of shape, entitled, rude and some other (not so nice) things along those lines. Continue reading What Do Foreign Tourists Think of U.S.

Uber CabUber is teaming up with Goodwill in a Winter Clothing Drive to offer clothing donation pickups of “gently worn clothes” today, November 25.

I received an e-mail about this offer from UberNYC. The offer is available in three cities- NYC, San Francisco & Boston free of charge.

If I lived in Manhattan, I’d definitely be taking Uber up on this offer. Kim and I have quite a few bags of clothes to give away… Continue reading Uber Collecting Clothing Donations For Goodwill TODAY

It’s always nice to hear about the U.S. being respected and liked around the world but this doesn’t sound like the smartest plan…

When I think most about pride and respect towards America around the world, Kosovo is the first place that comes to mind. During our visit, we spent some time on Bill Clinton Boulevard and visited a square that has a statue of the former POTUS himself. (A post about our time at Bill Clinton Boulevard is long overdue.) $800K To Spare? Buy Your Own Town

town for sale

Earlier in the year I wrote about a couple of options to become the owner of your own town! Sounds pretty cool and what’s more impressive than saying you own a town…

There was a European town available at the bargain basement price of $0 although it would certainly cost a small fortune to bring it back to live-in condition. If you are more interested in staying close to home, a town in the U.S. was going for a cool $1.5 million. This one came with a general store along with some other buildings in better shape than the one in Europe. Continue reading $800K To Spare? Buy Your Own Town

Can You Pass: Middle School US History Test

a flag of the united statesBack when I was in school I always excelled more in English & Social Studies than /Math & Science. I probably consider Social Studies/ History to be my favorite subjects.

While it’s been some time since I’ve been in school (even grad school for that matter), I’d still like to think that I’d do well with basic US history questions. Continue reading Can You Pass: Middle School US History Test
