Kim and I expected to do some outdoorsy activities like hiking, spotting wildlife, spending a little time on the beach and other things along those lines. However, we never expected to come across such an interesting place as El Avion. Continue reading Love Airplanes? Check Out El Avion Restaurant in Costa Rica
Considering how involved Japan is when it comes to electronics and automobiles, I found it hard to believe that the country hasn’t made a passenger plane in 50 years.
On Wednesday, November 11 that changed when Mitsubishi launched the first Japanese-made passenger jet, according to CNN. Continue reading 1st Japanese Passenger Jet in 50 Years Debuts
It sure would be nice to own a private plane. It could definitely make things much easier when we wanted to just pick up and go somewhere.
Many rich and famous people have their own private plane (or even planes). Find out about some in the post Private Jets of the Rich & Famous here. There is also a plane known as the nicest plane ever, which you can find out about here.
In the post about Private Jets of the Rich, a plane owned by Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump is mentioned. The plane, a Boeing 757 cost a whopping $95,800,000. Continue reading What’s Better: Donald Trump’s Plane or Air Force One?
Phone threats against airlines caused planes to be searched by authorities in Boston, JFK Airport in New York and at Newark Airport yesterday.
One threat was credible enough to cause an Air France flight to receive a military escort from U.S. figher jets to JFK.
The FBI thinks that one caller may have been responsible for calling in the threats. Continue reading Threats Cause Planes To Be Searched, One Gets Military Escort
Last week we looked at some of the Private Jets of the Rich and Famous. One plane on this list pretty much blew the others away.
There was mention of a Saudi prince owning his own Airbus A380 which cost a whopping $487 million. The prince’s custom seat looks like a thrown in the middle of the plane.
Imagine someone getting a personal plane possibly even better than the Saudi prince. Continue reading The Most Amazing Plane Ever?
Imagine how uncomfortable it must be for athletes (think 7 foot tall basketball players, 6’4 330 pound football players) to travel on the average airplane. Yesterday I came across a tweet from Airbus which mentioned they were launching their new online shop.
While I do have a bunch of airline-related souvenirs including an awesome Singapore Airlines A380 model (that I got at a Travel Massive event), I don’t plan on buying any more collectibles ( junk) to add to my collection.
However, I thouht that it would be fun to check out the site to see what kind of things Airbus was offering for sale.
CNN Travel has an article featuring the 20 Most Annoying Things People Do On Planes.
To come up with their list, CNN created an “unofficial survey of the most rude and irritating things you… sorry, other people, do on planes“.
Flying on a plane puts us in tight quarters, surrounded predominately by strangers. Once we are onboard there is pretty much nowhere to go so it’s best to try to be courteous to those around you.

I came across a really cool event that KLM hosted for 300 kids while wasting a few minutes on Facebook.
On October 2 KLM hosted a pre-screening of the Disney movie Planes on an actual KLM plane!
According to the youtube video, 300 lucky kids saw their winning drawings turned into a short animation announcing they won tickets to an exclusive KLM pre-screening of Disney’s Planes.
