Although pizza typically includes three main ingredients- cheese, sauce and crust, there are so many varieties and styles of pizza.

But is there a best pizza? Continue reading The Daily Meal’s 101 Best Pizzas in America 2015

One of the Best Underrated Pizzerias in Brooklyn, NY

Brooklyn Pizza New York City is filled with great places to get pizza and many of them have been around for a very long time.

We have Lombardi’s, American’s first pizzeria around since 1905, although not in its original location. Totonno’s has been serving up their excellent pies in Coney Island since 1924 and John’s of Bleeker St has been around since 1929. There are many other pizzerias around NYC that seem to have been around forever. One of my favorites, I feel doesn’t  get mentioned as much as it should. Top 10 Pizza Restaurants in US?

TripAdvisor
Julianna’s Pizza- Brooklyn, NY

When I saw that TripAdvisor came up with a list of Top 10 Pizza Restaurants in the U.S., I was definitely curious to find out which places made the cut (as well as also find out just how many I’ve visited).

Living in New York City, specifically Brooklyn, we can probably go to a different pizzeria each week without repeating any places that we’ve been to previously.

With that said, on many best pizza lists, one particular place in Brooklyn usually comes in at the top spot- DiFara, located on Avenue J in the Midwood section. Continue reading Top 10 Pizza Restaurants in US?

Certified Pizza Awesomeness: Slice Out Hunger 2014

a white banner with black text

A few days back, Kim, Lucas and I headed into Manhattan for Slice Out Hunger. The event is known as NYC’s biggest pizza party. All of the money raised gets donated to an amazing charity, the Food Bank For New York City.

50 pizzerias from NYC (and a handful in NJ) donated pies with each slice selling for $1. Along with slices there were also beverages, snacks, ice pops and raffle tickets for sale. Every dollar spent gets matched by event sponsors. According to the event guidelines, every $1 ticket bought helps deliver 15 meals to New Yorker’s in need. Impressive stuff! a black text on a white background

Pizza is one of the most perfect and favorite foods for me. I’m lucky to have been born in Brooklyn, NY- home to some of the greatest pizzerias around.

As a city, NY has so many great places to eat pizza that you could definitely try out new ones all of the time without needing to go back to the same place. However, we all still have our favorites which are well worth returning to!

Last year I attending an amazing charity event called Slice Out Hunger. (Check out my post about it here.) The event is organized by pizza expert Scott Wiener who runs Scott’s Pizza Tours in NYC. I took the tour last year and had an amazing time. I’d recommend it for any pizza lover visiting the city in the future! Continue reading Slice Out Hunger-NYC: 10/8- $1 Pizza For A Cause

To Protect And Serve…Pizza

two police officers holding a pizza box

I came across a great story which has to do with my favorite food, pizza.

The police might be going through an all-time low in popularity around the U.S. due to a couple of recent incidents which led to fatalities.

However, the police do stick their necks out on the line, day in and day out for us. When I think of the police, the motto- To Protect and Serve usually comes to mind. Continue reading To Protect And Serve…Pizza

During our trips we love to try out the local varieties of pizza although it usually falls short of what we are used to at home. That’s not to say we haven’t had great pizza while traveling.

Here are some of our memorable pizza experiences: Continue reading World’s 10 Best Pizza Cities

If I get delayed on the tarmac in the future, hopefully the pilot is as nice as this one…

A Frontier Airlines flight (which took off from Washington D.C.) got diverted to Cheyenne, Wyoming due to severe thunderstorms while on the way to Denver.

With a plane full of hungry passengers and no food left on the plane, what’s a pilot to do?  Continue reading Plane Stuck On Tarmac, Pilot Orders 38…
