Better late than never… The Michael W Travels family attended the 2nd Annual New York Pizza Festival in Bronx’s Little Italy on October 5th. (I’ve been a bit tardy on getting my post together.)
and had a great time. It was a no-brainer that we’d return again this year. we attended the 1st NY Pizza Festival
To change things up, we headed to the festival on the first day of the two day event. Due to this we didn’t have any recommendations to go by when choosing which slices to try.

I’m always on the lookout for great new pizza close to home and while traveling.
We’re pretty lucky with the fact that Brooklyn pizza is some of the best you’ll come across just about anywhere. There’s also plenty of great shops in Manhattan and the other boroughs.
We also like going on trips to Connecticut, Philadelphia and (to a lesser extent) New Jersey in search of great pizza.

Up until last weekend, I never had a chance to make it to the shop, located in Hoboken, NJ.

Di Fara Pizza, located in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, NY is considered to be one of the best pizzerias in the country.
The pizzeria is in a bizarre location considering that it’s located is a predominately Jewish area with just about all kosher shops. Regardless, people frequently make the trek to Avenue J to try a slice.
Years back, it made headlines for charging $5 per slice which is definitely pricey for pizza but not overly ridiculous these days.

The 80 year-old pizzeria, famed for their squares and spumoni will be expanding for the first time.

L’Industrie- (not ordered by Air Canada)
An Air Canada flight had to be diverted due to bad weather earlier in the week.
The plane was stuck on the tarmac for hours which probably led to some hungry and upset passengers. To help the situation, the pilot decided to have pizza delivered to the plane!

Over the weekend, the Michael W Travels family headed to Philadelphia for a one night stay at the DoubleTree located in Center City. (We booked the stay to use our Spend A Night On Us Certificate from .) our recent Hilton Grand Vacations Timeshare Offer
We had no set plans besides visiting the close-by Legoland Discovery Center the following day.
One of the reasons we love Philadelphia is because its such a great food city.

Over Columbus Day Weekend (October 6 & 7), the 1st Annual New York Pizza Festival took place on Crescent Avenue in the Bronx.
The festival was a two- day event featuring pizza makers from the US and Italy. Some I had heard of while others were new to me.
Considering how much we love pizza, the Michael W Travels family had to attend the event.

Passengers on an American Airlines flight from Los Angeles to Dallas- Fort Worth had a difficult journey a couple of days back.
Severe thunderstorms caused the flight to divert to a regional airport in Wichita Falls, Texas. The 159 passengers on the plane faced being stuck there until the next day.
