Grab A Pie At 87 Year-Old Patsy’s Pizzeria In East Harlem, NYC

Patsy's PizzeriaLast month, I wrote about how my family got to eat a meal from NYC’s most exclusive restaurant. The restaurant is located in NYC’s East Harlem neighborhood which is a bit of a trip for us from our home in Brooklyn.

Whenever we find ourselves so far uptown, there’s a pizzeria that we have to visit. Grabbing a pie (or a few slices) from Patsy’s Pizzeria is a real treat and also pretty much a bargain. Continue reading Grab A Pie At 87 Year-Old Patsy’s Pizzeria In East Harlem, NYC

This Pizza Themed Airbnb Comes With… A Slice Of Pizza!

pizzaWe started using Airbnb during our trips back in August 2012.

After having a hard time finding a solid, affordable place in Singapore, we turned to Airbnb and it was an awesome experience. Since then, we’ve stayed in Airbnbs many times, some stays have been great, others not so much.

Over the years, I’ve come across various interesting and bizarre Airbnbs like a 6 ton potato, a vintage custom vanigloos, tents and more. Continue reading This Pizza Themed Airbnb Comes With… A Slice Of Pizza!

Our Experience At The 2nd Annual New York Pizza Festival

festivalBetter late than never… The Michael W Travels family attended the 2nd Annual New York Pizza Festival in Bronx’s Little Italy on October 5th. (I’ve been a bit tardy on getting my post together.)

Last year, we attended the 1st NY Pizza Festival and had a great time. It was a no-brainer that we’d return again this year.

To change things up, we headed to the festival on the first day of the two day event. Due to this we didn’t have any recommendations to go by when choosing which slices to try. Continue reading Our Experience At The 2nd Annual New York Pizza Festival

Brooklyn Pizza Scene Gets Even Better, Head To F & F Pizzeria Now!

brooklyn pizzaI’m always on the lookout for great new pizza close to home and while traveling.

We’re pretty lucky with the fact that Brooklyn pizza is some of the best you’ll come across just about anywhere. There’s also plenty of great shops in Manhattan and the other boroughs.

We also like going on trips to Connecticut, Philadelphia and (to a lesser extent) New Jersey in search of great pizza. Continue reading Brooklyn Pizza Scene Gets Even Better, Head To F & F Pizzeria Now!

Benny Tudino’s, Home Of The Largest Slice Of Pizza I’ve Ever Had!

benny tudinosI came across the pizzeria Benny Tudinos years back and made a note of it due to it’s massive slice.

Up until last weekend, I never had a chance to make it to the shop, located in Hoboken, NJ.

Is NYC’s Di Fara Pizza Destination Worthy?

Di Fara PizzaDi Fara Pizza, located in the Midwood area of Brooklyn, NY is considered to be one of the best pizzerias in the country.

The pizzeria is in a bizarre location considering that it’s located is a predominately Jewish area with just about all kosher shops. Regardless, people frequently make the trek to Avenue J to try a slice.

Years back, it made headlines for charging $5 per slice which is definitely pricey for pizza but not overly ridiculous these days. Continue reading Is NYC’s Di Fara Pizza Destination Worthy?

We Tried & Conquered The Philly Taco! (No, It’s Not Really A Taco)

philly tacoOver the weekend, the Michael W Travels family headed to Philadelphia for a one night stay at the DoubleTree located in Center City. (We booked the stay to use our Spend A Night On Us Certificate from our recent Hilton Grand Vacations Timeshare Offer.)
