Over winter break 2018, the Michael W Travels family visited France and Monaco.

McDonald’s isn’t a restaurant that we frequent while at home but it’s a must when we’re visiting international destinations.
We like to visit McD’s for a variety of reasons while traveling. I love trying out the local McDonald’s menu items available. The kids LOVE McD’s due to the toys. (The food is definitely secondary.) It’s also nice to eat something (relatively) familiar while away.

Two McDonalds customers hung a fake poster in one of the chain’s locations “after noticing a lack of Asian representation in the marketing materials.”
The poster stayed up in the Pearland, Texas McDonalds location for 51 days. The funniest part is that it only got noticed when they posted about it on Twitter. McDonald’s is a must- visit for me when checking out a new country but I rarely dine at the fast food chain while at home or traveling around the US.

When traveling to other countries, I love visiting McDonald’s to see what kind of interesting menu items might be offered.
McD’s is also a good option when you’re traveling with little kids since they’re usually excited to get a little toy with their meal. (A big added bonus is when the location still has a play area.)
