Finding Neapolitan Pizza Excellence At Pop’s Place- Ljubljana, Slovenia

Neapolitan PizzaBefore heading off on our trip to the Balkans, I had read that Slovenia had excellent pizza. This was in part due to the country being so close to Italy.

I pinned a few places in the capital Ljubljana for us to consider trying.

While walking around during our first day in search of one of the shops, we came across Pop’s Place, a restaurant which serves Neapolitan Pizza. Continue reading Finding Neapolitan Pizza Excellence At Pop’s Place- Ljubljana, Slovenia

Searching For Invader In Ljubljana, Slovenia!

InvaderWe showed up in Ljubljana, Slovenia very tired and feeling a bit under the weather.

Our plan for the first day was no real plan. We figured it would be best to wander around since we were arriving mid day and then get down to business the following day.

As we walked around, one of us noticed a pixelated tile mosaic from our favorite street artist, Invader! Continue reading Searching For Invader In Ljubljana, Slovenia!

Ridiculous Street Signs #30: Don’t Pee Standing Up- Bosnia

PeeIt’s been almost a year since I last posted a Ridiculous Street Sign.

We’re currently on a month long trip around the Balkans and the third country we visited was Bosnia and Herzegovina. During our stop in Jajce, we stayed in a very nice room we found on Booking.com.

Searching For Bruce Lee In Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina!

Bruce LeeWhen I read that Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina had a Bruce Lee statue, I quickly added it to the list of things we had to check out during our trip.

I found it quite odd that the martial arts star would be commemorated in Mostar, of all places. It turns out, there are a couple of reasons why. Continue reading Searching For Bruce Lee In Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina!

KFC or Chick fil-A in Bosnia and Herzegovina? No It’s CFC!

Chick fil-AWe’re currently a week into a month-long trip around the Balkans. Today, we spent the day exploring incredible city of Mostar in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

While checking out the Mostar Sniper Tower (formerly a bank), I noticed something familiar or so I thought.

I spotted a restaurant named CFC, not to be confused with KFC. As we walked closer, I noticed the last C looked almost exactly like the Chick fil-A logo. Continue reading KFC or Chick fil-A in Bosnia and Herzegovina? No It’s CFC!

Did I Finish Pete & Elda’s XXL Pizza In The Whole Pie Eater’s Challenge?

Pizza
From our first visit…

Besides travel, pizza and baseball are a couple of my other favorite hobbies.

Traveling doesn’t always mean getting on a plane or even driving very far. Sometimes, we go on pizza tours, visiting multiple shops in one day.  We started doing this more over the past year or so, since we had been grounded during the pandemic.

While I believe New York has the best pizza in the world, great pizza can also be found in states close to home like Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Continue reading Did I Finish Pete & Elda’s XXL Pizza In The Whole Pie Eater’s Challenge?
