We heard about how selfie sticks could be potentially dangerous to works of art and were being banned in museums but who knew that taking a selfie could be potentially life-threatening?

Sometimes taking a selfie is a necessary evil. Maybe no one is around to take a photo for you or you want to take that group shot without bothering anyone else. But is it worth risking your life for? Continue reading Be Careful Taking Selfies- Boy Falls 1,640 Feet Off Cliff, Survives

$80,000 Honeymoon Cancelled, Man Sues

Ebola Fear

I couldn’t imagine booking a trip and then canceling it, losing money in the process unless it was an extreme circumstance.

Now imagine someone shelling out over $80,000 for their honeymoon to Africa… Then, due to Ebola fears they decide to cancel even though they’d be visiting countries “more than 3,000 miles from the outbreak in the western part of the continent“.

Does this make any sense? To top it off, the man who booked the trip is now suing the travel agency that booked the trip for him! Continue reading $80,000 Honeymoon Cancelled, Man Sues

Is It The Airline’s Duty To Contact Us About Flight Cancellations

flight cancellations

At the beginning of the month, Kim, Lucas and I got stuck in Orlando during our first trip of 2015. Our flight was cancelled due to a potential snow storm that was supposed to hit the NYC area on Super Bowl Sunday. From what friends told me, around the time our flight would’ve landed, the weather really wasn’t so bad…

Either way, I guess it’s better to be safe than take any chances flying into potentially bad weather.

The thing that bothered me most is that I got no notification from American Airlines about the cancellation. Continue reading Is It The Airline’s Duty To Contact Us About Flight Cancellations

America’s Happiest Airports?

US Airports

I never really thought of airports as happy places besides the fact that they are the gateway to getting us to our destination.

Maybe it’s the kid in me, but I still kinda find going to the airport exciting. But are they happy?

I came across an article from Fox News which wondered “Are these America’s happiest airports?Continue reading America’s Happiest Airports?

AA Leaves 1,000s Of Bags in Miami Leaving Passengers In The Dark

lost baggageI’d say that Kim and I check a bag 95% of the time.

For international trips we aren’t bringing along backpacks small enough to bring onboard, especially not when also packing clothes, diapers and other things needed for a toddler. We’ve also avoided paying checked-bag fees since most of our domestic flights in the past few years have been with Southwest, an airline that allows you to check bags for free. Otherwise, for our recent trip to Orlando we flew AA. Due to having Gold status I was allowed to also check bags for free. Most Ridiculous Landmarks In Each State

When visiting a new place, I often seek out quirky and off the beaten path attractions. The stranger and more bizarre the better!

As an example, here are a couple that I’ve written about. Have you heard about The Shit Fountain in Chicago? Close to Atlantic City, NJ did you know there was a six-story tusker that you could go inside? That would be Lucy the Elephant. Continue reading Most Ridiculous Landmarks In Each State

The Most Amazing Plane Ever?

Master Bedroom

Last week we looked at some of the Private Jets of the Rich and Famous. One plane on this list pretty much blew the others away.

There was mention of a Saudi prince owning his own Airbus A380 which cost a whopping $487 million. The prince’s custom seat looks like a thrown in the middle of the plane.

Imagine someone getting a personal plane possibly even better than the Saudi prince. Continue reading The Most Amazing Plane Ever?

Thailand Giving Chinese Tourists Behavior Manuals

Chinese Tourists

This is pretty crazy and could be even taken as border-line offensive but….

I couldn’t imagine being given a manual on how to act when visiting a country but that’s what thousand of Chinese tourists will be receiving when they visit Thailand over the Chinese New Year. Continue reading Thailand Giving Chinese Tourists Behavior Manuals

NY Airports Last In Transit Access To City

If I can make it there, I’ll make it anywhere. It’s up to you New York, New York.”

Make it anywhere? If it involves leaving the airport and making it into the city promptly, I highly doubt that this would be the case….

Premium Economy Seats Worth Paying For

premium economy class

During our recent trip to Orlando, I was able to select complimentary Main Cabin Extra seats due to my lifetime Gold status with American Airlines.

While it’s highly unlikely that I’d ever pay to upgrade to these seats, it was nice to have the extra leg room and early boarding. (Either way I would’ve had an earlier boarding group due to my status.)

In my opinion, Main Cabin Extra seats offers the space that should be allocated to all flyers booking in the back of the plane. (A bit less would even be acceptable.) However as we all know, the airlines trying to squeeze as many passengers onto a flight certainly would not agree. Continue reading Premium Economy Seats Worth Paying For
