Amex Closed, JetBlue Barclaycard Delivered- Still Hope for the Signup Bonus?

JetBlue Barclaycard

Yesterday I wrote a post wondering if you closed your Amex card in hopes of getting a JetBlue Barclaycard bonus.

While I didn’t recently have the American Express JetBlue card, Kim did. I had her close the card in hopes that she would qualify for a signup bonus for the Barclaycard version rather than just have it converted over (from Amex).

When Kim closed her card, she asked the rep if her info was already sent to Barclays and if she’d be receiving that new product. The rep had told her no.

All seemed good in terms of her applying for a JetBlue Barclaycard but now I’m not so sure… Continue reading Amex Closed, JetBlue Barclaycard Delivered- Still Hope for the Signup Bonus?

Did You Close Amex Card In Hopes of Getting JetBlue Barclaycard Bonus?

JetBlue Barclaycard

When it was announced that current American Express JetBlue credit card holders would have their card transferred to the new JetBlue Barclaycard, I told Kim that she had to close her card ASAP.

I originally figured that American Express would want to transfer her card to another one of their products and was a bit surprised to hear what would be happening. Continue reading Did You Close Amex Card In Hopes of Getting JetBlue Barclaycard Bonus?

Did I Get An AAdvantage Aviator Red Retention Offer?

AAdvantage Aviator Red

Back in March I was surprised when I had paid my AAdvantage Aviator Red card’s bill even though the card hadn’t arrived.

For those of you confused by what I am talking about, I’ll quickly explain. Due to American Airlines and US Airways merging, the Barclays US Airways credit card was being switched over to the AA Aviator credit card.

When my bill arrived in the mail a few weeks back with the $89 annual fee included, I knew there was an important call that I had to make. Continue reading Did I Get An AAdvantage Aviator Red Retention Offer?

Wyndham Rewards Credit Card Bonus Offer for 1/1-3/31 2016

Wyndham Rewards

It seems like there’s been a lot of bonus offers from the Wyndham Rewards credit card in recent months.

I received a not so lucrative offer this month. There was also an offer to receive 15,000 bonus points for a 2 night stay. One offer that I did take advantage of gave me 10,000 bonus points for completing a certain amount of spend for 3 straight months. My 10,000 bonus points appeared recently, kind of…

I just received an e-mail from my Wyndham credit card with a bonus offer to start off 2016. Continue reading Wyndham Rewards Credit Card Bonus Offer for 1/1-3/31 2016

IHG Anniversary Free Night: $49 For A $415 Hotel Room

a screenshot of a map

One perk which makes the IHG credit card a keeper is the IHG Anniversary Free night.

With the benefit you get one free night each year at any IHG property around the world. This makes paying the $49 annual fee a relative bargain. In the past I’ve used my free night at hotels at some very nice properties.

In 2012 we stayed at the Intercontinental Singapore. Last year I wrote about a crazy expensive IHG Anniversary Free Night that we weren’t booking. I then wrote about an expensive IHG Anniversary night that we did bookWe also used two certificates over the summer at the Intercontinental Muscat during our trip to the Mid-East Gulf States.

So how could I get good value this year using my free night? Continue reading IHG Anniversary Free Night: $49 For A $415 Hotel Room

Not So Lucrative Bonus Offer from Wyndham Credit Card

wyndham credit card

Over the summer I received a very nice bonus offer from my Wyndham credit card. With the offer I could earn 10,000 bonus points.

There’s also been other offers to earn 2 bonus points/ $1 spent in eligible categories and another (not credit card related) where you could earn 15,000 bonus points for a 2 night stay. That’s enough points for a free night!

I recently received another offer which I found to be a bit odd and not so lucrative… Continue reading Not So Lucrative Bonus Offer from Wyndham Credit Card

10,000 Wyndham Bonus Points Appear Kind Of…

Wyndham credit card

Over the summer I wrote about a targeted 10,00 bonus points offer from the Barclaycard Wyndham credit card.

With the offer, all I had to do was spend $250 or more each month for August, September and October. This sounded easy enough and worth getting 10,000 bonus points for.

Considering a free night at any Wyndham property goes for 15,000 points, this offer would get me 66.66% of the way there! Continue reading 10,000 Wyndham Bonus Points Appear Kind Of…

Did I Get A Citi American Airlines Credit Card Retention Offer

American Airlines Credit Card

When the annual fee posted to the account for my Citi American Airlines credit card, I knew there was something I had to do.

I rarely am willing to pay a credit card’s annual fee and this was especially the case for this card. I can’t say that I see much value in the card making it worth paying $95 to hold onto.

I decided to call the number on the back of my card and find out about a retention offer. Continue reading Did I Get A Citi American Airlines Credit Card Retention Offer

Why Can’t I Register for US Bank FlexPerks Gogo Benefit

US Bank FlexPerks

A couple of weeks back a new perk came out from US Bank where some FlexPerks cardholders could get 12 Free Gogo Inflight Wifi Sessions. When I saw that my account qualified, I decided to run a Gogo giveaway.

Since receiving the offer, I got lazy and held off on activating it. I then tried to do so a couple of days in a row only to receive error messages stating that my card wasn’t eligible!

This was pretty odd considering I received two e-mails from US Bank about the Gogo offer. Continue reading Why Can’t I Register for US Bank FlexPerks Gogo Benefit

Club Carlson Credit Card Calls About Retention Offer

Club Carlson Credit Card

A week back I wrote about possibly getting a Club Carlson credit card retention offer.

I had called about the card’s annual fee which the rep wasn’t able to waive. However, she told me that a request could be made to see if there were any offers available. I decided to pay the fee and see what offers might possibly come up.

However, I wasn’t confident that I’d actually hear back from a manager.

Last night after getting home from Travel Massive, I was surprised to have a message from a Club Carlson credit card rep. I was so surprised that it took a minute to remember why they’d possibly be calling me! Continue reading Club Carlson Credit Card Calls About Retention Offer
