Over President’s Week break the Michael W Travels family headed to Barcelona.

Barcelona was the first European city I visited (around 20 years back) but it was the first visit for the rest of my family. It’s fun to revisit places I’ve been but I still like to squeeze in a new destination, too.

Ikea stores are so massive that it’s easy to get lost inside. I know when we visit Ikea, Kim and I often have a difficult time finding the way to the exit!

When visiting Ikea, Lucas loves getting his 30 minutes of time at Smaland, the free, supervised play area. (Yes, I had to look up the exact name of the area.) A couple of weeks back, the #1 rated burger in America came to NYC when Au Cheval opened in Tribeca.

I’ve long wanted to take another trip to Chicago and try Au Cheval’s cheeseburger. While I still want to go to Chicago again, trying this popular burger became much easier for me.

I also just realized that my last uncapped IHG Free Night is expiring in the middle of May. This night is of little use on an upcoming trip so we might just book a night at a Kimpton property close to home in NYC.
