Social media sites are great ways to stay in touch with friends and family. And what better way is there to share your vacation photos than to post them on social media!

An article by Travel + Leisure mentions that, “The average person spends about nine hours of a weeklong vacation on social media, according to a study from Expedia.”

So are people wasting their vacation time on social media? Continue reading Is Social Media Ruining Your Vacation?

You Might Not Want To Use This In Your Hotel Room

After reading this you might want to reevaluate the idea of using one of the amenities in your hotel room in the future.

Coffee is clearly a very popular beverage and a must-drink each day for many people. A cup of coffee can easily set you back $3-$4 a pop. Luckily, the majority of hotel rooms come with a hot water kettle so you can make a cup of coffee (or tea) in your room. Continue reading You Might Not Want To Use This In Your Hotel Room

We love experiences which include animals while traveling.

In 2012, I wrote about My Top 5 Animal Encounters. It could probably use an update with A Visit to the Abu Dhabi Falcon Hospital being added to the list.

One day I’d love to pay a visit to see the swimming pigs in the Bahamas. Tragedy struck these special pigs a few months back. Who knows if regulations will change, stopping tourists from interacting with the pigs in the future.

I came across another interesting animal experience on Corsica France but it might be wise to keep your distance. Continue reading Sunbathing Cows on the Beach in Corsica, France- Don’t Take Selfies!

Woman Suing Hotel For Getting Pregnant From Affair

Hotel
Not the hotel from the woman’s stay…

This has got to be one of the odder stories I’ve come across in quite some time…

A woman is suing a hotel in Halle, Germany due to a three-night stay from back in 2010. She had an affair with a man, only knowing his first name- Michael.

Then, nine- months later she had a son, “who she believes was the result of the encounter,” according to T+L. Continue reading Woman Suing Hotel For Getting Pregnant From Affair

Barack Obama has been enjoying himself since his time as POTUS came to an end.

Just a couple of weeks after his presidency ended, Obama spent time vacationing at Richard Branson’s Necker Island. I’ve also read that he’s been spotted dining around New York at some of the city’s top restaurants.

Talk about the good life! Continue reading Barack Obama Is Spending A Month On A Private Island

Swimming Pigs in Bahamas Found Dead

Kim and I have had many wonderful animal experiences during our travels over the years.

We loved seeing a wide variety of wildlife during our visits to Africa, were educated and got up close with elephants at the Elephant Nature Park in Thailand, swam with turtles in Barbados and got to see turtles lay eggs in Oman. (Check out a post from 2012 which has My Top 5 Animal Encounters.)

Besides trekking to see mountain gorillas in Africa again or swimming with whale sharks, a top animal experience I’ve been hoping to do would be to revisit the Bahamas to see their swimming pigs. Continue reading Swimming Pigs in Bahamas Found Dead
