A Nice Pizza Surprise At Squisito On San Salvador Volcano!

SquisitoAt the end of June, the Michael W Travels family headed off to El Salvador.

While there, we ate lots of tasty pupusas, the country’s national dish. We were tipped off about a pizza version, the PuPizza which we all enjoyed!

On the way up to San Salvador Volcano (aka El Boqueron), we passed what looked to be a very interesting pizza shop called Squisito. Continue reading A Nice Pizza Surprise At Squisito On San Salvador Volcano!

Did I Finish Pete & Elda’s XXL Pizza In The Whole Pie Eater’s Challenge?

Pizza
From our first visit…

Besides travel, pizza and baseball are a couple of my other favorite hobbies.

Traveling doesn’t always mean getting on a plane or even driving very far. Sometimes, we go on pizza tours, visiting multiple shops in one day.  We started doing this more over the past year or so, since we had been grounded during the pandemic.

While I believe New York has the best pizza in the world, great pizza can also be found in states close to home like Connecticut, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Continue reading Did I Finish Pete & Elda’s XXL Pizza In The Whole Pie Eater’s Challenge?

Rome Now Has A Pizza Vending Machine!

Pizza
Not From Pizza Vending Machine…

While in Rome, Kim and I enjoyed lots of excellent pizza around the city. A couple of shops which stood out were Pizzeria Da Baffetto and Forno Campo de’ Fiori. (There are other shops we enjoyed who’s names I can not recall.)

While there are a variety of different styles, there’s now a new pizza option in Rome. Continue reading Rome Now Has A Pizza Vending Machine!

New Brooklyn Pizza Shop From Lucali’s Mark Iacono Opening Next Week

Pizza Brooklyn’s pizza shop Lucali ranks at the top of the best pizzerias in America on just about every list each year.

The shop is pretty small and you can’t just stop by for a slice. Expect hours long waits to get one of their pies and delicious calzones (which I think are even better). Continue reading New Brooklyn Pizza Shop From Lucali’s Mark Iacono Opening Next Week

Starting on April 20, “Stretch Pizza will take up residency inside Breads Bakery,” and it’s being led by a Michelin-starred chef! Continue reading NYC’s Breads Bakery To Offer Pizza From Star Chef Wylie Dufresne!

A Visit To Michelin Starred Momofuku Ko For… Pizza!

Momofuku KoDavid Chang’s Momofuku Ko, located in NYC’s East Village, has held two Michelin stars since 2009.

When I heard that they were offering pizza, it immediately became a must-try on my list. While pizza isn’t a part of the menu that Michelin recognized the restaurant for, I thought it would be fun to say that we had pizza from a Michelin starred restaurant! Find Out About Our Visit To Old Forge, PA- Pizza Capital of the World

Pizza Capital of the WorldWhen most people think of pizza destinations, I think it’s fair to say that New York and Italy primarily come to mind.

If I’m thinking about pizza around the US, the places I think of most would be New York (really Brooklyn), Chicago and Connecticut.

Around five or six years back, I heard about an area in Pennsylvania dubbing themself the Pizza Capital of the World! I had to find out for myself about the area by taking a trip to Old Forge, PA. Continue reading Find Out About Our Visit To Old Forge, PA- Pizza Capital of the World
