Filipino Chain Jollibee Coming To NYC

Jollibee

Last week I wrote about Jollibee, a fun food recommendation from Anthony Bourdain.

Jollibee is a Filipino fast food chain which some might consider the McDonald’s of the Philippines. While there are over 30 locations in the US, most are located on the West Coast (primarily in California).

The Michael W Travels family lives in Brooklyn, NY so we visited the Jollibee located in Queens. However, our options to dine at the chain will soon be increasing! Continue reading Filipino Chain Jollibee Coming To NYC

KFC Has A New Colonel Sanders

Colonel Sanders

During our trip to Louisville and Nashville back in 2012, Kim, Lucas and I got to see KFC’s Colonel Sanders in a couple of places.

We saw him at the Louisville Visitor’s Center and we also visited his grave.

While KFC isn’t a place we ever eat at (or I at least can not recall the last time we have), Colonel Sanders is still a pretty cool pitch-man, mascot, symbol of the restaurant etc… Continue reading KFC Has A New Colonel Sanders

Yet Another Delay to the NYC Anthony Boudain Market

anthony bourdain

One of the most anticipated food projects coming to NYC has to be the upcoming Anthony Bourdain Market.

The market will be an international food hall featuring vendors from around the world serving up a wide variety of cuisines.

Initially the market was supposed to open in 2015. Then it was announced that it would open in 2017. Continue reading Yet Another Delay to the NYC Anthony Boudain Market

Jollibee, A Fun Food Rec from Anthony Bourdain

Anthony BourdainOver the years I’ve tried many restaurants based on recommendations from food and travel TV shows. Restaurants discovered this way can definitely be hit or miss.

A month or so back I was watching Anthony Bourdain’s Manila episode of his show, Parts Unknown which airs on CNN.

Lots of interesting food was eaten during the episode but I have to admit that I was most interested in trying out a Filipino fast food restaurant that I had heard about a few years back.

Jollibee is a popular fast food chain located in various countries around the world and they just happen to have a location close to home! Continue reading Jollibee, A Fun Food Rec from Anthony Bourdain

FREE Shake Shack for Dads on Father’s Day!

Shake Shack

I’ve written many times over the years about my favorite burger chain…

Shake Shack is a place you can go for consistently awesome burgers, tasty frozen custard and yummy fries (since they went back to their original crinkly cut fries a while back.)

They also like to give back with promos like the Great American Shake Sale which recently passed.

And now Shake Shack wants to give dads a little something on Father’s Day! Continue reading FREE Shake Shack for Dads on Father’s Day!

The Amazing French Onion Soup Burger at Le Rivage NYC

Le Rivage NYC

Kim and I recently went to see Cirque du Soleil’s Paramour on Broadway.

With the show starting at 7:30 PM and lasting for around two hours, we needed to find a place to go for dinner close by (before the show).

Since I try to avoid the Times Square area as much as possible, I wasn’t really sure where we should dine. But then I remembered a place that I had read about a while back which served a burger that won the New York City Wine & Food Festival’s Burger Bash in 2013.

That made our decision easy. Kim and I headed to a pre-theater dinner at Le Rivage NYC. Continue reading The Amazing French Onion Soup Burger at Le Rivage NYC

Another Update On Upcoming Anthony Bourdain Market

Anthony Bourdain Market

Anthony Bourdain is a hero (so to speak) to many of us that love travel and food.

He gained fame and notoriety thanks to his books (I’ve read Kitchen Confidential) and his TV shows, No Reservations which aired on the Travel Channel and Parts Unknown which currently airs on CNN.

There’s been lots of buzz surrounding a new project coming to NYC from Anthony Bourdain, a massive, international-style food hall. Continue reading Another Update On Upcoming Anthony Bourdain Market

Food Review: Shake Shack’s Bacon CheddarSHACK

a sign in a restaurant

When I heard  that a new burger option would be added to the Shake Shack menu on June 3rd, I had to head over to give it a try.

Last night, Kim, Lucas and I headed to the Shake Shack on Flatbush Avenue in Brooklyn, NY to try out the new Bacon CheddarSHACK!

Some of you might ask what the big deal is about Shake Shack adding a bacon cheeseburger to their menu. The thing is that just about any item we’ve tried at Shake Shack has been awesome so the odds were pretty good that this wouldn’t be just an ordinary bacon cheeseburger. An Amazing Deal for 100th Anniversary of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs

cars parked cars on a streetMany of you are probably familiar with Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs, available around the United States and even at some international locations.

Their hot dogs are available at supermarkets and retail locations- both stand alone and in  sports stadiums, malls, theme parks and more.

You might also know Nathan’s due to their famous Hot Dog Eating Contest which takes place each year at the original location in Coney Island in Brooklyn, NY on July 4. (I’ve gone a few times since we live close by.) Continue reading An Amazing Deal for 100th Anniversary of Nathan’s Famous Hot Dogs
