Another Update On Upcoming Anthony Bourdain Market

Anthony Bourdain Market

Anthony Bourdain is a hero (so to speak) to many of us that love travel and food.

He gained fame and notoriety thanks to his books (I’ve read Kitchen Confidential) and his TV shows, No Reservations which aired on the Travel Channel and Parts Unknown which currently airs on CNN.

There’s been lots of buzz surrounding a new project coming to NYC from Anthony Bourdain, a massive, international-style food hall. Continue reading Another Update On Upcoming Anthony Bourdain Market

Emmy Squared- Pizza Perfection in Brooklyn, NY

Emmy Squared

Some of you may have read how much I love pizza (and burgers). I’ve written about pizza from time to time but definitely not as much as I should!

Just the other day I wrote about the Best Pizza Cities in the World. NYC came in at #2 on the list and I don’t know, it seems like more and more amazing pizza places keep opening up!

Emily in Clinton Hill, Brooklyn opened a couple of years back offering very tasty pizza as well as a very good burger (which I need to try again). On Wednesday, they opened a new pizzeria called Emmy Squared. Continue reading Emmy Squared- Pizza Perfection in Brooklyn, NY

In recent years food offerings at baseball stadiums have vastly improved.

Check out a post where MLB baseball stadiums are ranked by food. If you love baseball and food, then you’ll definitely want to read this book!

When I think of baseball, I think of grabbing a good burger at a stadium. My favorite team, the New York Mets has one of the top fast- casual burgers available behind the centerfield scoreboard- Shake Shack! Continue reading New York Mets Getting New Pizza Option from Danny Meyer

I came across an interesting article from Time Out New York recently which mentions that NYC might be in danger of being underwater in the not so distant future.

If you’re hoping to check out the Big Apple, I would’t worry about the city disappearing in the next few years. You definitely have some time since the report states that this awful situation could occur by the year 2100.  Continue reading Climate Change Report Says NYC Could be Underwater by 2100

Great News For Paying NYC Parking Meters

NYC Parking Meters

Paying for NYC parking meters has been a real pain in recent years.

Rather than pay for a meter right by your car, you need to seek out a muni-meter box, sometimes close to a block away to pay. Then you have to walk back to your car to put the receipt in the window, wasting quite a bit of time.

Well now paying for meters is about to change for the better. Continue reading Great News For Paying NYC Parking Meters

Update On Anthony Bourdain’s New York Food Hall

Anthony Bourdain's NYC Food Hall To Open in 2017
image: CNN

Back in January I wrote how the Anthony Bourdain New York food hall would be opening in 2015. A few months later the location of the food hall was revealed. Then news came out that Bourdain’s food hall wouldn’t be opening until 2017.

The food hall will be an ambitious project, featuring vendors both local and from around the world. With Kim and I being fans of food halls and markets, we look forward to visiting Bourdain’s when it opens in a couple of years.

News about the project has been relatively quiet recently. Here are some updates about what’s going on with the Anthony Bourdain New York Food Hall. Continue reading Update On Anthony Bourdain’s New York Food Hall

IHG Anniversary Free Night: $49 For A $415 Hotel Room

a screenshot of a map

One perk which makes the IHG credit card a keeper is the IHG Anniversary Free night.

With the benefit you get one free night each year at any IHG property around the world. This makes paying the $49 annual fee a relative bargain. In the past I’ve used my free night at hotels at some very nice properties.

In 2012 we stayed at the Intercontinental Singapore. Last year I wrote about a crazy expensive IHG Anniversary Free Night that we weren’t booking. I then wrote about an expensive IHG Anniversary night that we did bookWe also used two certificates over the summer at the Intercontinental Muscat during our trip to the Mid-East Gulf States.

So how could I get good value this year using my free night? Continue reading IHG Anniversary Free Night: $49 For A $415 Hotel Room
