Here is a festival that will be happening for the first time ever that might be of interest to some of you.
The Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue is probably the magazine’s most popular one each year. To celebrate the upcoming release of the 2016 issue, SI will be hosting the first ever Swimsuit Fan Festival in New York City and Nashville in February.
I can’t say that I am a reader of SI or their Swimsuit Issue for that matter, but if I come across it I’ll give it a quick look.
The events sound pretty cool since you’ll have a chance to meet some of the famous models that appear in the magazine in-person. (Not that I think I could name one model that appears in the issue!)
The event takes place in Herald Square on Broadway between 34th & 35th streets. The area will be tented and “will overflow with fan fun each day”. Many of the models will be making appearances and their will be other activities although no other details were shared besides mentioning that you can get your issue autographed.
Events take places on Lower Broadway between 4th & 5th avenues. There will be fan events and musical performances. Like the NYC event, models will be there to sign your SI Swimsuit issue. Food trucks will also be along the streets.
Both events are free to attend.
I can’t say that I’ll be taking off of work to attend this festival but I’m curious to hear what other plans they might have. If anyone decides to stop by, please let us know if the event was worthwhile.
