How To Save Money On Disneyland Paris Tickets

Disneyland ParisEverybody knows that visiting  theme parks isn’t cheap. You can expect to pay around $100 per person per day to visit major parks like Disney.

Odds are pretty high that if you’re visiting a theme park, it will be the priciest day of your trip.

The Michael W Travels family recently visited France over winter break. We decided to visit Disneyland Paris on Christmas Day since we figured that pretty much nothing would be open.  Continue reading How To Save Money On Disneyland Paris Tickets

An Easy Way To Save Money On The Paris Metro

Paris MetroOur this past winter break, the Michael W Travels family flew to Paris. Kim and I had both previously visited Paris (separately) around 18 years back.

We were both excited to return to the city for a visit together and with our kids, Lucas and Theo. (During the trip we also visited Nice and Monaco for the first time.)

Paris is a pretty large city divided up into 20 arrondissements. Getting from one area to the next can be time consuming.

Luckily, the Paris Metro is really efficient, reliable and affordable.  Continue reading An Easy Way To Save Money On The Paris Metro

Our (Pretty Much) Failed Attempt at Visiting The Center of Paris

ParisDuring our winter trip, the Michael W Travels family visited Paris, Nice and Monaco. We chose to fly to France due to a voluntary bump on the way home from last year’s winter trip.

While researching things to do in Paris, I came across a site that I had to visit- a marker which is at the center of the city. Continue reading Our (Pretty Much) Failed Attempt at Visiting The Center of Paris

We Tried & Conquered The Philly Taco! (No, It’s Not Really A Taco)

philly tacoOver the weekend, the Michael W Travels family headed to Philadelphia for a one night stay at the DoubleTree located in Center City. (We booked the stay to use our Spend A Night On Us Certificate from our recent Hilton Grand Vacations Timeshare Offer.)

One of the reasons we love Philadelphia is because its such a great food city. Continue reading We Tried & Conquered The Philly Taco! (No, It’s Not Really A Taco)

Ridiculous Street Signs #24: Stairs Ahead- Flushing Meadows Park

Flushing Meadows ParkIt’s been a while since I last came across a bizarre or ridiculous street sign. I think the last time I spotted one was back in February. (From time to time, I also post signs contributed by friends and readers which can be a lot of fun!)

For those of you unfamiliar with these signs, check out my collection of Ridiculous Street Signs here.

The Michael W Travels family recently headed to Flushing Meadows Park for a visit to the Queens Zoo. Continue reading Ridiculous Street Signs #24: Stairs Ahead- Flushing Meadows Park

A Visit To Armenia’s Stonehenge, Zorats Karer

stonehengeA lot of mystery surrounds Stonehenge, a UNESCO World Heritage Site in England.

The site consists of burial mounds and massive standing stones set up in a ring. Stonehenge is one of the most famous pre-historic monuments built around 2500 BC.

During our summer trip to six former Soviet states, we ended our journey in Armenia.

While visiting Armenia, we hired a guide & driver to take us to the unrecognized republic of Nagorno- Karabakh. (More on that another time.) As we headed back to Armenia’s capital, Yerevan, we had a chance to stop at the country’s version of Stonehenge called Zorats Karer. Continue reading A Visit To Armenia’s Stonehenge, Zorats Karer

A Family Visit to the Park Hyatt St Kitts

Park Hyatt St KittsIn November 2017, I wrote a post sharing Where Kim and I redeemed our four Hyatt Visa Free Nights.

After much thought, we decided on using them for a stay at the new Park Hyatt St Kitts.

We visited the property at the end of the school year- from late June- early July and I felt that it could be helpful to share what a family visit to the Park Hyatt St Kitts was like. Continue reading A Family Visit to the Park Hyatt St Kitts

A Visit to the Yogi Berra Museum, A Must for Baseball Fans!

yogi berraWhen it comes to sports, baseball is my favorite.

I’ve seen games in many stadiums in the US and I have also been to games in Canada, Cuba, Japan and South Korea.

A visit to the Baseball Hall of Fame is a must for any fan. I’ve been there three times and would like to go again. I also visited the Louisville Slugger Museum and Factory, another amazing museum all about baseball where you can also learn how bats are made. pizza festivalOver Columbus Day Weekend (October 6 & 7), the 1st Annual New York Pizza Festival took place on Crescent Avenue in the Bronx.

The festival was a two- day event featuring pizza makers from the US and Italy. Some I had heard of while others were new to me.
