Biggest Threat To World Heritage: ISIS

UNESCO World Heritage Sites

Whenever I visit a new place I make sure to check out the UNESCO World Heritage list to see if any places nearby are on the list.

For those of you unsure of what the UNESCO World Heritage List is, here’s a description.

According to UNESCO:

World Heritage is the designation for places on Earth that are of outstanding universal value to humanity and as such, have been inscribed on the World Heritage List to be protected for future generations to appreciate and enjoy. Places as diverse and unique as the Pyramids of Egypt, the Great Barrier Reef in Australia, Galápagos Islands in Ecuador, the Taj Mahal in India, the Grand Canyon in the USA, or the Acropolis in Greece are examples of the 1007 natural and cultural places inscribed on the World Heritage List to date“. Great Mother’s Day Travel Gift Idea: TSA Friendly Makeup

Stowaway Cosmetics

When flying, Kim and I rarely ever travel with carry-on luggage. There’s a couple of good reasons for this but I think one of them may have just been solved.

On just about all of our trips, Kim and I are packing for three people. If we were to bring carry-on bags I don’t think that it would be possible to fit all of our things. While Lucas’ clothes are relatively small, there are also diapers and many other things which end up taking up a lot of space. Shocking: Great United Customer Service!

united customer serviceI recently wrote about how I used my $300 United credit from a flight cancellation to book a flight to Atlanta for the Freddie Awards.

When I booked my flight back in January, I didn’t know much more than the date of the ceremony. I wasn’t sure what time it started or if there would be other related things going on due to it.

My original booking was flying out of Newark Airport at 12:22 pm, arriving in Atlanta at 2:45 pm. I figured that this would give us ample time to get to our airport hotel, freshen up, change and get over to the event on time.

Then I got a notification that our flight had changed. Continue reading Shocking: Great United Customer Service!

America’s Friendliest Cities

Friendliest Cities

I can’t say that I’ve really thought much about this topic before…

While visiting cities around America I generally find most places to be friendly. When it comes to friendly places to visit around the world, I’d have to place cities/ countries in Asia at the top of my list. (That would definitely include Myanmar, our most recent destination.) Did You Know? Leftover Hotel Soaps Save 1,000s of Lives

Clean the World

When staying at hotels one of the first things I do is give the room a quick inspection, also checking out the variety of amenity products in the bathroom.

If we really like the soaps and shampoos, we take the extras but I can’t say that we do this frequently. I’ll try to describe my favorite hotel soap. (I wish I could remember which hotels gives it out and what brand it is…) The soap has little bumps all over one side so it’s something like a massaging bar and it smells good too. (If any of you know which soap I am referring to, please let us know.)

Top 10 Islands To Visit 2015

Top 10 Islands

While a typical island vacation isn’t the most appealing kind of travel to me, there are many that definitely offer lots of things to do.

Some of my favorite trips have actually been to islands but they’re probably not ones that you’d typically think of.

When I think of some awesome island vacations that I’ve taken, Easter Island, San Blas (Panama) and Malta come to mind… No, they’re probably not the relaxing, beachy destinations that you probably thought I’d bring up. Continue reading Top 10 Islands To Visit 2015
