Global Entry $100 Credit Posted from Citi Exec AA Card!

Global Entry

I recently wrote about Kim and Lucas’ Global Entry interviews which went impressively fast.

Although I’ve had Global Entry for a couple of years, I’ve hesitated to get it for Kim & Lucas for a couple of reasons.

  1. I didn’t want to pay the $100 fee
  2. We get to cut the line quite a bit since we’re traveling with a little guy

However, when the Citi Executive AAdvantage card added a Global Entry fee credit, it was time to apply… Continue reading Global Entry $100 Credit Posted from Citi Exec AA Card!

SPG AmexI currently have both the personal and business Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG) American Express cards.

Both cards currently have a $65 annual fee although it is free for the first year you have it.

The biggest benefit to the card is when transferring points to airlines, 20,000 SPG points will become 25,000 airline miles/ points! You also earn 2 Starpoints on eligible purchases at participating Starwood properties.

Well now the annual fee for the SPG Amex cards will be going up $30 as of August 11, 2015. Continue reading SPG Credit Card Changes- $30 Fee Increase Worth the Perks?

Club Carlson 2nd Night Free Benefit Ending, 304000 Points Redeemed So Far

Club Carlson Credit CardOver the past few years Club Carlson has been one of the most generous hotel rewards program.

For those of us with the Club Carlson credit card, booking award nights can bring us double the value. When booking a stay of two or more nights, the second night is free although that’s about to change in just a few days.

The stay two, get one free benefit is one of the most awesome hotel program benefits but it will be going away at the end of this month. The last day for Club Carlson credit card holders to book stays with this benefit is May 31, 2015. I called to confirm this although I’ve read that some think the benefit ends on May 28…

So with such an awesome benefit going away, what’s was I to do???? Continue reading Club Carlson 2nd Night Free Benefit Ending, 304000 Points Redeemed So Far

Odd 10% Redeemed Miles Back from AA Award Booking

American Airlines Miles

A few days back I confirmed an award booking with American Airlines that I briefly had on hold.

After I finished purchasing the award flight, I waited a day or so before I logged into my account to check to see if I got 10% of my redeemed miles back. This is a benefit offered by a couple of credit cards that I have, the Citi AAdvantage Platinum Card and the new Barclays AA Aviator Red (formerly the US Airways Mastercard).

(You can get a max. of 10,000 miles back each year as a benefit of each card.)

When I logged in, I did see 10% of my miles returned to my account but I was a bit confused. Continue reading Odd 10% Redeemed Miles Back from AA Award Booking

Earn 3 Miles Per Dollar With Citi Executive Card- Targeted

AAdvantage Miles

When I got back from my recent trip to Myanmar I dreaded going through all of the mail which had accumulated while away.

Besides the usual bills and a few free magazines, there was mostly junk to get rid of. However, while making my way through the pile, I came across a special, limited time offer for one of my Citi AAdvantage Executive cards. Citi AA Executive Card Retention Offer

Citi AA Executive Card

A few days back I wrote about a Citi AA Retention Offer. Also, I recently called Citi about my American Airlines Executive Platinum card a few days before.

When the $450 fee posted to my account I was pretty sure that the Citi AA Executive card would be a goner and I’m totally OK with that.

First of all, I have three of these cards which is really not necessary. Second, I rarely use these cards anymore so I could certainly afford to get rid of one. The odds are overwhelmingly high that over the next few months the other two might also be closed. Continue reading Citi AA Executive Card Retention Offer

Citi AA Retention Offer: “But We’ll Miss You If You Do That”

citi credit cards

Last year I received a retention offer on my Citi American Airlines Visa card.

While I wasn’t thrilled with the options, I decided to keep the card open. I then considered calling back to close the card but in the end, never bothered….

The annual fee of $85 has once again came up which means it was time for another call. Continue reading Citi AA Retention Offer: “But We’ll Miss You If You Do That”

Earn 50% More Miles With US Airways Card

us airways mastercard

Last night I received an interesting offer from my US Airways Dividend Miles Mastercard.

The subject of the message was, “Earn 50% more miles from March 1 through June 30 2015″.

I figured that the message was worth giving a further look since I can’t say that earning extra miles is a bad thing!  Continue reading Earn 50% More Miles With US Airways Card

Shot Down: Amex Platinum Retention Offer

amex platinum cardBack in January 2013 I started a two-year relationship with the American Express Platinum card. We got off to a rough start and I had to make many calls and write a couple of letters before Amex did the right thing and gave me my 100,000 points.

I never intended to keep my card open for two full years but a retention offer &  an additional retention bonus along with hopes of a generous Membership Rewards transfer bonus offer made me do it. Continue reading Shot Down: Amex Platinum Retention Offer
