Review: Forget 7-Eleven, We Visited 24Seven in India!

24SevenDuring our trip to India during the Summer of 2019, we saw a bunch of familiar American fast food restaurants. We dined at McDonald’s a handful of times and KFC once (it was extremely spicy).

When purchasing drinks and snacks, we did so from shops which weren’t exactly what I’d consider to be stores.

Kim and I did read about a convenience store which sounded a lot like 7-Eleven. The store has the very creative name, 24Seven! Continue reading Review: Forget 7-Eleven, We Visited 24Seven in India!

Searching For A Traditional Mask In Nepal

NepalI recently wrote about a traditional hat that I bought in Nepal during our trip to South Asia.

In the post I mentioned how we got much better at minimizing the amount of souvenirs we buy on trips now.

Nepal is the one country in recent years where we actually wanted to buy a few things. As we wandered around the streets of Thamel and by various sites, I noticed many shops selling beautifully painted masks. Continue reading Searching For A Traditional Mask In Nepal

CheapOair Screws Up Our Flight Booking, Makes Good

cheapoairDuring our month-long trip around South Asia we visited five countries. The last stop on our trip was to India where we visited a bunch of different areas.

We booked a flight with AirAsia (through CheapOair) to get us from Delhi to Goa.

For those who don’t know, traffic in Delhi is beyond awful. Our flight was at 7:55 pm and we hoped to arrive at the airport two hours early. However, the ride to the airport took a lot longer than expected due to that fun Delhi traffic. Continue reading CheapOair Screws Up Our Flight Booking, Makes Good

Searching For A Dhaka Topi Traditional Hat In Nepal

nepalOver the years I’ve gotten much better at minimizing the amount of souvenirs (junk) that I purchase while traveling.

I remember coming home from Thailand (about 10 years ago) with an extra bag filled to the brim. Now it seems like many countries sell the same kind of this. Most of the time, if I am buying something it is for my boys.

However, there are a few items that I still like to purchase when visiting new places and one of them is traditional hats. (Click the link to find out about some of my other hat purchases from around the globe.) Continue reading Searching For A Dhaka Topi Traditional Hat In Nepal
