I’ve been putting off applying for a Citi Executive AAdvantage card for Kim for way too long and decided to finally get it taken care of last week.

(I’ve already received two Citi Executive AAdvantage cards which come with an amazing 100,000 bonus miles each. If you haven’t already taken advantage of this offer, you can still do so by applying here (not an affiliate link). The card comes with a pricey $450 annual fee but after a $200 statement credit you are really only paying $250.)

Your Recent AAdvantage Award Redemption…

AA-NewLogo

The day before heading off on our current trip to Milan and Malta I was busy booking a flight for one of our other trips. This particular trip will take place towards the end of the summer.

Over the years I’ve booked many flights with AAdvantage miles. The most recent one was for a trip in late June 2013 to Japan. After booking each of our award flights, I remember getting a confirmation e-mail relatively fast.

For my most recent booking it was a little different.

Citi AA Visa

Disclosure: I receive a commission if you apply & get approved for the credit card mentioned at the bottom of this post. Thank you for supporting Michael W Travels.

In recent months I’ve written about retention offers that I’ve received for a couple of credit cards.

Back in January I received $10 Profit + Up to 16,000 Bonus Miles to keep my Citi AA American Express card. Earlier this month I called up American Express regarding the annual fee on my Platinum Card. Find out what I was offered here and also check out the update here.

So now the fee has come up on yet another one of my Citi AA credit cards- the Visa variety.

I decided to call in to see if there was any retention offers available to me.

Video: A Big Surprise At the Airport

AA-NewLogo

American Airlines shared a really cool video on February 14 (Valentine’s Day) that I hadn’t seen until a couple of days back since we were away on our Quick Euro Roadtrip. (Post to come soon.)

In the video, a man surprises his (long-distance) girlfriend of 4+ years at the airport to ask her a very important question. A proposal at the airport sounds pretty odd so why pop the question there? It’s a pretty simple answer.

Big Changes Coming To American Airlines?

AA-NewLogo

In recent years many new fees have been added to enhance our flight experience. Everyone loves paying to check a bag, have a snack, pick a seat or gain a couple of extra inches of space in coach, right?

Now the most surprising fee of all might be coming to American Airlines in mid- March.

According to the Onion, AA will no longer offer free cabin pressurization.

Is It Worth Buying US Airways Miles With 100% Bonus

Screen Shot 2014-02-23 at 9.48.52 AMI’ve been receiving occasional e-mails from US Airways with an interesting offer. Due to being a US Airways credit card member, I have been given an exclusive offer– to buy or gift miles with a 100% bonus.

Now, I’ve never actually flown US Airways from what I could recall, but I have been building up my Dividend Miles account for a while. I originally planned to increase my account to have more options for flights in the future.
