Spend A Night In One of These Unique Airbnb Options

unique airbnbWhen it comes to picking where to stay, the options can be limitless…

Our options can range from hostels to basic hotels to luxury. Then there are the more unique places to stay- tree houses, ice hotels, hotels housed in former prisons. You get the idea.

These days it’s not so odd to stay in someone else’s home with sites like CouchSurfing (I’ve never tried it) and Airbnb (a personal favorite).  Continue reading Spend A Night In One of These Unique Airbnb Options

Airbnb’s Awesome NYC Marathon Event

airbnb nyc marathon

Last year we had such a good time cheering on runners during the New York City Marathon in Williamsburg, Brooklyn that we planned to go to watch the race again this year. However, we weren’t sure where we should go.

Our decision became easier when I found out that Airbnb would be having events around the boroughs during marathon day. Continue reading Airbnb’s Awesome NYC Marathon Event

I still can’t get over the ridiculous Airbnb logo

Over the years, I’ve written a bunch of posts about running. I’m not a hardcore runner, but I do enjoy the sport. I usually run 5Ks (3.1 miles) with my longest runs being in the 5 mile range.

Last year we stumbled across the path of the New York City Marathon and witnessed something pretty amazing pass by. A man was joggling his way through the marathon. The guy was juggling through the 26.2 mile course! Pretty crazy and impressive if you ask me!

We had a lot of fun hanging out for a while by the marathon route and plan to go again this year. Continue reading Airbnb NYC Marathon Events + Giveaways

Is This The Worst Airbnb

What's Up With the New Airbnb Logo?I’m sure that at one time or another we’ve all had a stay  at a place that would be best described as a dud.

Kim and I try to keep our lodging budget to a minimum but love to mix in stays in nicer places with our points. This can make for some interesting stays- one day a beautiful room with a great shower while two days later the room can be let’s just say not so great…

This brings me to Airbnb. When looking for a place to stay it might not be our first choice but makes for a good option when budget hotels don’t seem worth it.

During our limited times using Airbnb we’ve left (pretty much) satisfied after each stay.

Kim came across an article on Gawker about Airbnb which I find almost impossible to believe. Continue reading Is This The Worst Airbnb

Support Airbnb In NYC

Airbnb is looking to drum up some more support in New York City.

Last year I wrote a couple of posts about Airbnb fighting NYC for the right to operate in the city. (Airbnb Wins NYC Appeal- Resident Must Be Home and Help Save Airbnb In NY.)

I find Airbnb to be a really awesome and innovative travel company. Over the past few years, Kim, Lucas and I have stayed in Airbnb properties a bunch of times. Airbnb to me is like thinking out of the box when it comes to traditional lodging options. When we can’t find a hotel or hostel that fits our needs we’ll usually then turn to Airbnb. Airbnb Teams Up With Ikea To Offer In-Store Stay

a building with a sign

I’ve been a fan of Airbnb for quite some time now. During our first stay using Airbnb we had an awesome experience in Singapore. However, when they released a new logo back in July I wondered what was up.

I recently (jokingly) wrote that you can forget Airbnb, celebrity homes you can rent. The funny thing was that many of the celeb homes were actually available for rent through the site.

Now Airbnb has teamed up with a new partner to offer a very interesting (or maybe many would call it a strange) place to stay. Continue reading Airbnb Teams Up With Ikea To Offer In-Store Stay

Forget Airbnb, Celebrity Homes You Can Rent

Airbnb has opened up a ton of possibilities to us when it comes to places to stay while traveling. Sometimes traditional hotels can be way too pricey, not that exciting or budget options just seem plain bad.

With Airbnb, we’ve found some great places to stay at a very fair price. Check out my post about Our Awesome Experience during our first stay using Airbnb in Singapore. Continue reading Forget Airbnb, Celebrity Homes You Can Rent

What’s Up With the New Airbnb Logo?

a logo on a red backgroundLast week I got an “exclusive invitation” to a brand update from Airbnb. The event was held yesterday and was streamed live from the living room of the very first Airbnb.

I consider Airbnb to be one of my favorite travel companies out there. Kim, Lucas and I have used the service a few times in places like Singapore, Italy and most recently- Nebraska. (Check out my review of our first Airbnb stay- Our Awesome Experience with Airbnb.)

The company opens up possibilities of places to stay at reasonable prices when either- we don’t have or want to use points, nice hotels are way to pricey and the cheaper rooms seem pretty bad.

Now back to the exclusive invitation.  Continue reading What’s Up With the New Airbnb Logo?

Don’t forget to check out my 2nd blogging anniversary post and enter my giveaway!

A little over 2 weeks back I wrote about how airbnb won a NYC appeal and members would be allowed to rent out rooms as long as a resident was home.

After hearing about this outcome I figured that airbnb would be safe and legal to use in NYC for years to come.

I received an e-mail from airbnb about signing a petition to change NY laws. The petition already has 3,500 signature but their goal is to get to 20,000. If the petition reaches that goal by October 20th an airbnb host Mishelle plans to personally deliver it to the NY senate.
