Vanilla Reload Doomsday Updates From Around The Country

Vanilla ReloadsEarlier today I posted about What My Local CVS (Brooklyn, NY) Told Me About Vanilla Reloads.

This is definitely a topic/ worry on all of our (points & miles enthusiasts) minds so I think we can all agree on one thing- we love our Vanilla!

It seems like there has been a mad dash to get in those last Vanilla Reload purchases and today was supposed to be the day that it all ended or… was it an early, cruel April Fool’s Day joke?

What My Local CVS (Brooklyn,NY) Told Me About Vanilla Reloads

a group of cards on a green surfaceOver the weekend the big story in the miles & points world focused on doomsday aka the end of purchasing Vanilla Reloads at CVS with credit cards.

After buying quite a few Vanillas during the week, I am practically done putting the $10,000 spend on my second Citi Executive AAdvantage card which will give me another 100,000 AA miles.

Lucas likes Vanilla too and has enjoyed coming on VR scavenger hunts with me over the past year + so I figured I’d take him on one last shopping spree on Saturday. On the way to CVS he fell asleep but I successfully bought a bunch of cards. Too bad he missed out on the fun.

New Gogo Smartphone Day Passes +30% Off 1st Month Still Working

a cellphone with a plane flying out of the screenGogo Inflight Internet is now introducing a cheaper, daily way to connect.

Gogo All-Day Passes cost $14 per day. They come with 24 hours of continuous use on the same airline.

I find this to be a bit on the pricey side and don’t see myself paying for a pass on a regular basis. However, if you have a long flight and really need to get some work done I could see the value in connecting at 30,000 feet.

I’d probably find  value in using the internet and buying a pass at under $10 per day (depending on the length of my flight) and now there is a way.

“Like” MileagePlus Cards on Facebook For Special Offers

During Super Bowl weekend in NYC Chase sponsored a Big Game Week VIP Lounge in Times Square at Guy Fieri’s restaurant. There were free events at the lounge as well as exclusive ones for a fee. The lounge was open exclusively to Chase United MileagePlus cardholders and their guests. (If you’re interested in finding out more about what was offered, check out this post from Mommy Points.)

I had initially heard about the lounge in an e-mail from Chase but decided against making a special trip into Manhattan to visit. Either way it sounded like a nice little perk being offered.

A couple of days back I received an e-mail from MileagePlus Partner. The subject was “Get insider travel information and more: Like us on Facebook”.

Earn 2,000 Bonus Miles With SkyMiles Dining

a group of people eating pizza

I’ve written about airline and hotel dining programs a bunch of times in the past and here is another solid offer currently available.

Earning miles through dining programs is a great way to keep you accounts from expiring (not relevant for Delta since SkyMiles do not expire) but a big problem that I have with these programs is finding restaurants that participate.

SkyMiles Dining is offering 2,000 Bonus Miles for new members or existing members without a dining profile (after their first dine).

Don’t forget to enter my giveaway for a chance to win 1 of 5 Gogo Passes!

Ever wonder what an upgrade to Business Class might be worth? I’m not really willing to pay to upgrade but you can try to figure it out and place a bid, possibly scoring a bargain priced upgrade.

Earlier in the day I received an e-mail from Austrian Airlines related to social media which also celebrated reaching 200,000 Facebook fans. Congrats on the achievement I guess…

I scrolled a bit further down the e-mail and came across a pretty interesting way to possibly upgrade to Business Class.
