My Amex SPG Credit Card Retention Offer

Amex SPG

Over the summer I wrote about some SPG new credit card benefits which accompanied an annual fee increase. In an earlier post I had wondered if the SPG credit card changes and fee increase was worth the perks.

I feel that deciding the value of paying a credit card annual fee has a lot to do with each individual. I could see arguments made both ways for those changes made to the SPG card.

Back in July I called in for a retention offer on my SPG Business Card. Since the fee just hit on my personal card, it was time to call in and see what I might be offered. Continue reading My Amex SPG Credit Card Retention Offer

Club Carlson Credit Card Retention Offer? Possibly

The Club Carlson credit card’s second night free benefit was one of the most generous perks out there we received for having a credit card. When the offer was coming to a close, it sure was a sad day.

When news came of Club Carlson’s second night free benefit ending, I redeemed 304,000+ points for future trips. Since then, many of us have received a small amount of points and a free night certificate to make up for the loss.

When the $75 annual fee came up for my Club Carlson personal card, I had an important decision to make- keep it or close it. Continue reading Club Carlson Credit Card Retention Offer? Possibly

Wyndham Credit Card: 2 Bonus Points/ $1 Spent- Eligible Categories

Wyndham credit card

Over the summer I wrote about a targeted offer from the Wyndham credit card where I could earn 10,000 bonus points.

To earn the bonus, all I have to do is spend $250 or more during the months of August, September and October. I’m done with the first two months and will earn the bonus once I make my charge next month.

Wyndham also sent me a gift which I never got to use. More recently, I received a message from Wyndham about my card being replaced for security reasons.

I just received another offer from my Wyndham credit card. Continue reading Wyndham Credit Card: 2 Bonus Points/ $1 Spent- Eligible Categories

Anyone Receive This Message from Wyndham Credit Card?

Wyndham Credit Card

After applying and getting approved for the Wyndham credit card from Barclays in March, I earned the bonus and put it away in a drawer.

Then over the summer I received an offer where I could earn 10,000 bonus points for using my Wyndham credit card, spending $250 or more from August – October.

I decided to go for the bonus, charging a little over $250 in the months of August and September so far.

A few days back I received another e-mail from the Wyndham card. Continue reading Anyone Receive This Message from Wyndham Credit Card?

Reminder: Amex SPG Cardholders- FREE Boingo Membership

Amex SPG

When new perks were added & changes were made to the Amex SPG credit card I wondered if the $30 fee increase was worth it.

Some positive new perks were now added but I wasn’t so sure that they were things I’d actually pay for. The new benefits went live a couple of weeks back and with them came increased 30K signup offers for new members.

Besides the SPG Amex cards no longer having foreign transaction fees, a key addition was the inclusion of free Boingo internet around the world. Continue reading Reminder: Amex SPG Cardholders- FREE Boingo Membership

Retention? I Closed My Last Citi AA Executive Card

Citi AA Executive Card

Back in March I wrote about a Citi AA Executive Card retention offer.

The offer really wasn’t much of an offer. I could keep my card open and spend $1,000 or more in a month and get 1,000 bonus miles for 16 billing cycles or I could downgrade my card to another Citi AA product.

The decision was easy to close my card due to the pricey $450 annual fee. Continue reading Retention? I Closed My Last Citi AA Executive Card

SPG New Credit Card Benefits + Increased 30K Signup Offers

SPG

Back in early June I wondered, Is the SPG Credit Card $30 Fee Increase Worth the Perks?

I felt that a solid amount of benefits were being added for the increased fee. However, they added no actual monetary value to the card. In other words, while the benefits are nice, I wouldn’t pay to have any of them.

Well today the new benefits went live and with it came an increase in the sign-up bonus for both the personal and business SPG Amex credit cards. Continue reading SPG New Credit Card Benefits + Increased 30K Signup Offers

My Starwood Amex Biz Retention Offer

Starwood Amex

After getting back from our trip to Nicaragua on July 4, it was time to look over my credit card accounts to check on things…

While I was happy to see a $75 statement credit on my Starwood Amex Business card before we went away, this time I saw the $65 Annual Membership Fee had posted.

What to do, what to do… Continue reading My Starwood Amex Biz Retention Offer

Chase Ink Plus

The $95 fee recently came up for one of my favorite credit cards, the Chase Ink Plus so I had a tough decision to make… Should it stay or should it go? My options were to cancel or try to keep my card.

If I closed my account, it wouldn’t really be the biggest deal since I still currently have an Ink Bold. The Bold offers the same 5X points benefits at office supply stores and cell phone & other telecom bills.

So what to do? Continue reading Chase Ink Plus, A Quick & Easy Retention Call

An Odd Club Carlson Credit Card Bonus Offer

Club Carlson Credit Card

With the Club Carlson credit card second night free benefit ending at the beginning of last month, Gold Points have lost a significant amount of value.

Besides losing this great benefit, to top it off, the amount of points needed to redeem for a free night have also gone up at many properties.

Kim recently got an offer for her Club Carlson credit card which seemed a bit odd. Continue reading An Odd Club Carlson Credit Card Bonus Offer
