For almost a week I’ve been conflicted about a points transfer option.
Virgin America points will soon convert to Alaska Mileage Plan miles at a rate of 1:1.3. This in itself seems like a fair trade. I’ve been working (slowly) towards building up my Alaska account by getting the credit card from time to time. (I currently have 166,000+ Alaska miles.)
Just about anybody that collects miles and points has probably heard about the amazing JetBlue- Virgin America points match offer. It’s a pretty lucrative deal which is currently going on. (Today is the last day to send JetBlue an e-mail to register for the points match.)
I decided to go for the points match without a lot of thought since I’ve been working on building up my JetBlue account. From NYC, there are some great flight options, especially some international destinations that stand out. (Ecuador, Costa Rica, St Lucia, Haiti & Curacao.)
The SPG and Design Hotels Game started on November 18 and I’ve been entering daily.
Just for playing the game, you get entries into the grand prize drawing where you can win 5 free nights at category 1-6 hotels + 50,000 SPG points. There are also instant win prizes like a free hotel night certificate or 1,000- 10,000 Starpoints.
Yesterday I received an e-mail from Starwood Preferred Guest about a way to earn 2,500 bonus Starpoints with SPG Keyless.
For those of you unsure of SPG Keyless, here is some info. With Keyless, once you register your mobile phone, if you’re upcoming stay is eligible, you’ll get a push notification where you can opt-in to go keyless. When you’re room is ready, you’ll receive another push notification with your room number and you should be able to open your door! Continue reading 2,500 Bonus Starpoints with SPG Keyless→
SPG Starpoints are one of the most valuable miles & points currencies out there due to the ability to transfer 20,000 points to a variety or airlines, getting a 5,000 mile bonus. What this means is a 20,000 points transfer becomes 25,000 airline miles!
