Some hotels offer perks and bonuses upon check- in. At Club Carlson properties, there’s supposed to be a Gold member amenity offered. This might be a small bag with snacks and a bottle of water or a coupon for a free drink at the bar.
For a limited time, SPG is offering a special Check-In Incentive, bonus points!
I received an e-mail about this new promo from Dan Forman, Marriott International’s Senior Director of Loyalty, Digital, Marketing Innovation PR.
With the offer, members checking into a hotel with the SPG mobile app will earn a bonus of 250 Starpoints. (The promo covers over 1,100 rooms at St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, Sheraton, Westin, Le Meridien, Tribute Portfolio and Four Points properties.)
The offer runs for six weeks, until June 15. What’s nice about the promo is that if you have a lot of stays coming up, there’s no cap on the amount of bonus points you can earn. Bonus points will post within a few weeks of the end of the promo.
Some Rules: (from the e-mail)
- Mobile check-in feature is available exclusively for members who have downloaded the SPG mobile app and booked their stays directly with SPG on its website or in the app.
- Members will receive a notification approximately 48 to 72 hours before their stay asking if they would like to check-in using the app.
- On the day of arrival, a notification will be sent to their mobile device alerting them that their room is ready and their key is waiting for them at the front desk
- When they checkout using the SPG app, their folio will be emailed to them.
I’m all for earning bonus points and saving time, so using the SPG mobile app for check-ins sounds like a no-brainer. Too bad I don’t have any upcoming stays planned with SPG from now until June 15!
