Can That Item Go In My Carry On? Use This To Find Out

Carry On

Have you ever been unsure of what can be brought along on a flight in your carry on? It can be tricky when it comes to certain items.

I think we all know weapons, large bottles of liquids and most sharp items won’t be allowed through security. But what about items like razors (no I don’t mean boxcutters), crochet needles, toy guns

Did you know that the TSA has a feature online that could answer the question of what can be brought on flights? Continue reading Can That Item Go In My Carry On? Use This To Find Out

Forgot Your ID? You Can Still Fly

In the middle of September I wrote about how NY driver’s licenses + 3 other states won’t be valid for domestic flights in the future. Who knows if this will really happen…

This led me to look into what else is considered a valid form of ID. We could always bring a passport along but I prefer to leave mine at home unless I’m leaving the country.

Since I live in New York, I’d probably use my Global Entry ID card or get a passport card eventually.

While reading into valid forms of identification, something really interesting caught my eye. Continue reading Forgot Your ID? You Can Still Fly

What Counts As Valid Form of ID For Domestic Flights

Real ID Act

We recently found out that New York Driver’s Licenses (+ 3 Other States) won’t be valid for domestic flights next year due to the Real ID Act.

(The post mentions Louisiana, Minnesota, New Hampshire & New York as the states in which licenses will not be accepted next year. Some readers pointed out that Arizona and Idaho will also not be valid in the future).

This news might be causing some of us to worry although we don’t know for sure if the rule will even be enforced next year. Continue reading What Counts As Valid Form of ID For Domestic Flights

During the year I enjoyed reading The TSA Blog, finding out some of the crazy things that they found people trying to sneak through security screenings at airports around the country.

Some of these things were really mind-blowing and I even wrote a bunch of blog posts to share what the TSA had found.

It’s been a while since I’ve posted about the TSA’s finds. Since they posted about their 2014 Year In Review, I figured it was time for another, related post. Continue reading Knife Found In Enchilada & More: TSA 2014 Year In Review

DANGEROUS Weekly Finds at Airports

a green and blue sign

I’ve always found it interesting to read about the crazy and dangerous items that the TSA finds at the airport. It’s amazing that people really think they will successfully sneak some of these dangerous items though, unless they genuinely forgot that the items were in their bags!

I was looking over the post from the TSA about recent weekly finds called TSA Week In Review. There weren’t really too many items that stood out but there were still a few good ones. Continue reading DANGEROUS Weekly Finds at Airports

See What The TSA Found Now!

a green and blue signThe TSA is hard at work trying to make sure that our airports are safe. They like to share some of the interesting and illegal things that get discovered each week on their blog.

I’m always fascinated by the crazy things people try to sneak past the TSA in their carry-ons. I’d assume that sometimes it is an honest mistake but most times it is probably not. Continue reading See What The TSA Found Now!

A little over a week back I wrote about a dangerous items that the TSA found at the airport in Boston.

The TSA found another interesting item at the airport. The item was once again shared by the @TSABlogTeam on Twitter.

When I read what the item was, it brought back memories from when I was around 10 years old. Continue reading TSA Finds Sharp Throwing Star At Dallas-Love Field
