Over February break, the Michael W Travels family headed to Greece and Cyprus.
While we rarely dine at McDonald’s at home, we had to pay a visit to the fast food chain in each country.

While I rarely dine at McDonald’s, I always try to do so when visiting a new country. The main reason is to see what unique, local menu items might be available.
In the summer of 2017, the Michael W Travels family spent 5 weeks in the Pacific. We visited a bunch of island nations in the region and had a really great time. Over the summer the Michael W Travels family spent 5 weeks in the Pacific. During our trip I visited six new countries while Kim, Lucas and Theo visited five.
When visiting a new country we always try to visit McDonald’s to see what interesting local menu items might be available. Lucas also loves getting a toy and having some time to play in the playground.

During our trip to the Pacific, Fiji has been a very important country for the Michael W Travels family. Flights to most of the countries that we’re visiting tend to go through the country.
On our way from the airport to our first hotel, we drove past a Burger King so I figured that there had to be a McDonald’s close by.

Despicable Me 3 comes out today, June 30. While this might not be of interest to most of you, it is exciting to Lucas since he’s a big fan. I promised Lucas that I’d take him to see the movie one day so that means I’ll most likely get a decent nap!

When I travel to new places I love checking out McDonald’s to see what local menu items might be offered.
McD’s also appeals to Lucas, mainly for the toy but it also offers a taste of home (we rarely eat there at home) if/ when you get tired of the local food.

During our trip to South Korea, we arrived late in Seoul tired and hungry. While I would’ve liked to have had some local food, Kim and I decided that we needed to be quick and play it safe for our first meal. In the process we’d still get to check off something we do when visiting a new country.
