Most people know TripAdvisor as a popular site to visit to get some info and other traveler’s opinions before booking a hotel stay. The site also offers tips on attractions and other things.

Last summer I came across ToiletAdvisor while Kim, Lucas and I were traveling around Oman during our trip to the Middle East Gulf States.

Maybe TripAdvisor should add another category… Continue reading Check Out This Awesome TripAdvisor Style Review

Man Travels the World With An Awesome Sign!

travels the worldYesterday I wrote about a man traveling the world with his pet chicken. Definitely not the most likely travel partner, but a chicken does make for a great story and conversation piece!

Some of you may have realized that I like signs, especially funny one that I come across during my travels. Check out some Ridiculous Street Signs here.

I just came across the story of a man who travels the world with a pretty interesting (and somewhat funny) sign. Continue reading Man Travels the World With An Awesome Sign!

Back in February I wrote about actress and singer Vanessa Hudgens carving into the Sedona Red Rocks. It looked like she could face some legal trouble- a fine of up to $5,000 or six months in jail.

In April, Hudgen shared the locations of the carvings and the authorities gave her options. Continue reading Vanessa Hudgens Fined $1,000 for Carving into Sedona Red Rocks

Tom Hanks has been in many great movies. One of my favorites is Cast Away where he plays the survivor of a plane crash, living on a deserted island for four years.

Recently a dog became a real life canine castaway when she was lost at sea and was found 5 weeks later on an island 70 miles off the coast of San Diego. Continue reading Canine Castaway: Dog Lost At Sea 5 Weeks Found On Island

When I visited Thailand, I read and was told about a law which could get you into big trouble.

You never speak negatively about the country’s king or his family…

According to Mashable, “Thai authorities are investigating US Ambassador to Thailand Glyn Davies for allegedly defaming the country’s king, or “lèse-majesté” as the major offense is known in the country“. Continue reading Thailand Investigating US Ambassador for Defaming King

Save Google Maps Directions

When asked to name my favorite travel apps, my list is sure to include TripIt, AwardWallet and Currency. Another app that I will usually mention is one that isn’t just for travel, it’s used by many everyday.

Google Maps is such a useful app that I haven’t turned my regular GPS on in years besides the times I borrowed a map chip to use it around Europe and during our trip to the Middle East Gulf States.

In May of 2014 I wrote about some intereting Google Maps app updates.

I just came across some news of a new feature from the Google Maps app which can benefit us when we don’t have an internet connection. Continue reading You Can Save Google Maps Directions Offline!

Will the Concorde Fly Again?

The Concorde

Earlier this year we learned about a man that has flown the Concorde over 700 times.

While I did get to sit in the cockpit of the supersonic plane as a little kid and also visited the Barbados Concorde Experience a few years back,  I never had a chance (not many did) to take a flight on the supersonic plane.

The Concorde has been out of service since 2003 but there is a chance that it might take flight again in less than 5 years. Continue reading Will the Concorde Fly Again?

Man Fined $400 For Inflight Reclining Seat Fight

One inflight debate which seems to bring strong feelings from both sides is the right to recline your seat (during a flight).

Some people feel that it is rude to recline your seat while others feel that if the seat reclines then it is your right to do so.

While I might not recline during a flight or recline all of the way if I do, I’d have to say that I’ll side with those that feel, if the seat reclines, then I’m allowed to. Continue reading Man Fined $400 For Inflight Reclining Seat Fight

Here’s a great way to increase an airline’s capacity by 40%…

How would you like to save more money on your flights but (most likely) be even more uncomfortable in the process? Care to give up your seat, but still get on the flight?

If this sounds like a good idea, then you’ll want to hear more about a Chinese budget airline’s plans. Continue reading Chinese Airline Considers Standing Room On Flights
