Couple Getting Married on 6 Continents, Having 38 Weddings

Wedding Travel

I’ve heard of destination weddings but this couple’s wedding journey has to top them all…

After getting engaged, a couple couldn’t decide on a specific theme or idea for their wedding so they came up with a pretty crazy idea.

Rather than choose, they decided on having 38 weddings in 83 days! Continue reading Couple Getting Married on 6 Continents, Having 38 Weddings

Stinky Poop Causes Plane To Turn Around, I Shit You Not

Flight Delays

I’m pretty sure that a couple of friends of mine just sent me one of the funniest stories ever related to air travel.

I logged into Facebook and saw an alert from my friend Nat. Her husband Rich, (one of my oldest friends since we’re like 5 or 6 years old) wanted to share an article with me.

So what could it be? Continue reading Stinky Poop Causes Plane To Turn Around, I Shit You Not

If Dragons On A Plane Sound This Good, How Are They In Concert?

Last month I wrote about a pretty interesting sweepstakes being ran by Southwest.

In the sweepstakes, one lucky winner won a trip which included three flights and three concerts to see the very popular band, Imagine Dragons.

The really cool part of the prize was that one of the concerts was onboard a Southwest flight called Destination Dragons. The inflight concert took place on 2/24. Continue reading If Dragons On A Plane Sound This Good, How Are They In Concert?

Europe’s Cheapest Cities To Visit

Cheap European Cities
Palace of Parliament- Bucharest, Romania

It seems like I keep reading about how now is the time to go to Europe. This is mainly due to the Euro falling close to a 1:1 exchange rage with the US dollar.

According to an article fromĀ The Guardian, “the euro has lost 35% of its value since last May“. It also fell “below $1.06 for the first time since April 2003” on Wednesday.

While the dollar is catching up to the euro, some countries and cities must still offer a better deal than others.

Smarter Travel took a look at Europe’s Cheapest Cities This year. Continue reading Europe’s Cheapest Cities To Visit

Could this story really be true? If so it would rank up there as one of the craziest travel stories related to flying that I’ve come across to date.

Back in 1964 a world champion javelin thrower from Australia had to find a way home from the UK for his daughter’s birthday. The problem was, he couldn’t afford the cost of the flight.

After a night out drinking with a fellow athlete, they came up with a great plan… Continue reading Can’t Afford Flight, Did Man Really Mail Himself From UK To Australia

Interactive Tool Predicts Flight Delays

Flight Delays

FiveThirtyEight, owned by ESPN “is a data journalism organization” founded by statistician Nate Silver. He is also the editor-in-chief.

The site takes a look at a wide range of topics by “applying statistical analysis, data visualization, and data-literate reporting” according to ESPN.

I can’t say that I know a lot about the site’s workĀ but I did receive an interesting e-mail from ESPN PR about FiveThirtyEight’sĀ launch of an Interactive Tool Predicting Flight Delays. Continue reading Interactive Tool Predicts Flight Delays

Creepiest Things You Can Do On A Flight

If I had to bet, I’d guess that we’ve all come across a bunch of strange or odd passengers during flights.

When thinking of this topic, the first thing that came to mind was a guy on my flight home from Dubai. He was laughing as loud as could be while watching a movie. I’m pretty sure that the whole plane could hear his obnoxiously loud laugh! Definitely strange…

I thought about this topic due to a slideshow that I came across from Smarter Travel. Continue reading Creepiest Things You Can Do On A Flight

Uber To Create 1,000,000 Jobs For Women

Uber Jobs

As much as I don’t like Uber’s surge pricing model, they do seem to try to do a lot of good, giving back to charities and forming other interesting partnerships.

I received an e-mail yesterday from Uber about a new partnership with UN Women about “working togetherĀ around the world toward a shared vision of equality and women’s empowerment“.Ā  Continue reading Uber To Create 1,000,000 Jobs For Women
