The Most Funded Luggage Ever on Kickstarter

I find Kickstarter and other crowd-funding sites to be really interesting and a great way for innovators and creators to bring their ideas to market. However, I can’t say that I’ve backed a campaign.

A new carry-on just became the most funded luggage ever on Kickstarter, blowing away its intended funding goal. Continue reading The Most Funded Luggage Ever on Kickstarter

The Amazing Race wrapped up its 27th season last Friday.

During the season the show visited 10 countries and traveled 34,000 miles. One team dominated the race, the Green Team, engaged couple Justin & Diana. However, they couldn’t win when it mattered most. Reporters and couple, Kelsey & Joey took home the $1 million prize.

The Amazing Race Season 28 will debut in 2016 filled with social media stars. (Can’t say that I’ve heard of any of them!)

When I came across an article from CNN about the Amazing Race host Phil Keoghan’s Top 10 Destinations, I was curious to find out which places made the cut. Continue reading Amazing Race Host Picks Top 10 Destinations

Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach- Did AA Compensate?

cancelled flight

Last week I wrote about a cancelled flight in business class where we ended up having to fly coach to Toronto. I wondered if we were owed compensation from American Air.

During this trip to Toronto, many things went wrong. Due to a mistake with our booking, I’m waiting on a refund of 40,500 Avios + $143.79 from British Airways.

During this whole saga of bookings mistakes and cancelled flights, the one thing that did turn out well was Marriott customer service helping us out so we didn’t lose a free night certificate.

While I’m still waiting on my refund for British Airways to post, I heard back from American Airlines Customer Relations much faster than I had expected. Continue reading Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach- Did AA Compensate?

Where’s My Avios, Flight Compensation, 2500 Bonus SPG Points, Wyndham Gift, Amazing Race Cast, Sex Offender Gets Past TSA, Win Tix to India & More!

Rehash

I hope that everybody had a nice Thanksgiving and didn’t spend too much money on Black Friday!

This year was a bit odd with Small Business Saturday not being a factor due to the loss of free money from Amex! However, I did cash in on a bunch of Amex Offers which gave free money but still required a spend…

My last new credit card of the year finally arrived. (More on that in a future post.) This will probably be the least miles earned from credit card sign ups in quite some time and I’m not sure that it will be better or easier next year. Pay For Wifi With Miles on United

United Wifi

Using wifi during flights is a great way to pass the time and even get some work done but it usually comes at a price.

Unless you’re flying Jetblue (possibly some other airlines), you can expect to pay from $5- $16 during a flight unless you have a monthly pass. (Prices are based on what it costs to use Gogo Inflight.)

What if there was another way to pay for inflight wifi rather than cash. Would you consider paying for wifi with miles? Continue reading Pay For Wifi With Miles on United

Cancelled Flight, Marriott Customer Service Impresses

Marriott Customer Service

I’ve recently written about some problems related to our short trip to Toronto, Canada.

The first problem occurred when we were supposed to go on the trip a few weeks back. I was checking my British Airways account when I noticed that our flight to Toronto had been cancelled. This led me to ask British Airways- Where’s My 40,500 Avios + $143.79.

We then got rebooked for the following week. More bad luck soon followed. We had a cancelled flight in biz class and had to fly coach. I then wondered if I was owed compensation. (I certainly feel that we are…) Continue reading Cancelled Flight, Marriott Customer Service Impresses

Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach. Am I Owed Compensation?

cancelled flight

A couple of days back I wrote about how British Airways owed me 40,500 Avios + $143.79 due to a mistake they made with a recent booking.

Because of a BA error, I ended up with a cancelled flight from New York to Toronto. After a lengthy call, Kim, Lucas and I were booked for the following week in business class.

More bad luck hit us on flight day and our flight was cancelled. Continue reading Cancelled Flight in Biz, Flew Coach. Am I Owed Compensation?
