I was recently approved for a new credit card. I’ve now had the card a couple of weeks and the minimum spend is almost completed. So, after a down year for earning miles and points through credit cards, I’m trying to end the year on positive note.

I decided to apply for another credit card and was instantly approved! I’m hoping to end 2019 by getting approved for at least one more credit card offering a solid sign up bonus. It’s been a little while since we returned from our month-long trip around South Asia. With winter break a little over two months away, I’m currently on the hunt for a deal on a flight.

I’ve been checking some options using miles but I’ve been coming up empty handed. It seems highly unlikely that I’ll find a reward flight during the dates we’re off from work. All I can do is keep looking or hope for a good deal on a flight to purchase! Over the weekend, we went to Pennsylvania primarily to use a Marriott credit card free night which was expiring in a little over a month.

With no clear use for it before expiration, Kim and I decided to use it for a short getaway for the kids. We checked out Dutch Wonderland, a small theme park which ended up being a lot of fun.

Over the weekend, we spent a couple of nights at a Hilton property in Binghamton, NY.          Super glamorous, don’t ya think? 🙂

This past weekend we headed to the Bronx for the 2nd annual New York Pizza Festival.

Shops from around the United States and Italy set up in the streets close to the borough’s Little Italy. This is a great event where you don’t have to go very far to try pizza from all over!

When I go onto TripIt, the only upcoming plans we currently have are for a two-night stay in upstate NY. (Not exactly the most exciting trip although we do expect to have a good time!)

It doesn’t look like our next flights will be until winter break. That’s still a few months away and I have no idea yet where we might go, but I’m OK with that.
