It was a very special week here for us.

Our little man Lucas turned 8 years-old over the weekend. For his birthday we took a quick road trip to Philadelphia, one of our favorite destinations within a couple of hours of home.

Last night we got back from our Deep South Road Trip. We drove over 2,500 miles, visited some interesting cities & states and ate some great food. We’ve been mapping out our upcoming winter break road trip and have lots of decisions to make.

While I hoped to not pre-book many hotels, Kim and I are worried that if we don’t , we could have trouble finding lodging due to it being holiday time. Our plan is to book hotels for our first 2-3 nights and then wing it from there. Kim and I are slowly putting together our plans for this year’s winter break trip.

With no deals to be found on flights- award or paid, we’ll be going on a road trip. Our plan is to visit two new states. This will move us closer to one of our goals to visit all of the states in the US. We’ll also (most likely) visit other areas in 2-3 states that we’ve previously been to.

I hope that everyone in the U.S. had an enjoyable Thanksgiving weekend. We enjoyed the extra couple of days off from work, although it never seems like enough! For those of you who traveled, hopefully you didn’t get stuck due to the bad weather.

Over the weekend we did something fun for both kids and adults.

We stopped by one of the top places for pizza in NJ (and the country), Bread and Salt Bakery in Jersey City and then checked out the Liberty Science Center. I’m not usually a fan of science museums, but this one was pretty interesting with some appealing exhibits for adults.
