There’s been lots of news recently of people attempting to sneak into Europe with poor results. The sad part of the story is that many, possibly thousands have died trying to get smuggled in onboard ships and ferries.

Last month, there was news that 700 people may have drowned in one  accident alone in what’s being described as Europe’s migration crisis, according to the New York Times. Continue reading Boy Smuggled Into Spain In Suitcase

Interesting New Magazine Coming Out

National Geographic History

In my opinion National Geographic puts out possibly the best magazine and I’d definitely consider it to be a favorite of mine.

I’ve had a subscription to NatGeo on a few occasions. However, I currently only receive the Traveler version. (Not so surprising, is it?) There was a  point when I was receiving National Geographic, NatGeo Traveler & NatGeo Adventurer all at the same time.

Then there’s the Mutter Museum in Philadelphia and the even more shocking Kunstkamera in St Petersburg, Russia.

I could go on mentioning some more weird ones, but a recently opened museum in my hometown of Brooklyn, New York might take top prize…. Continue reading This Might Be The Weirdest Museum Ever & I’d Love To Visit

In late 2014 I wrote about how Southwest airline seats were recycled for a good cause. The airline donated the leather from some of their old airplane seats which in turn were made into soccer balls and other items.

I received a press release from JetBlue about a program that seems to be a bit similar in some ways… Continue reading Great Use For Recycling JetBlue Crewmember Uniforms + Win A Trip to NYC

Virgin Australia Opening Airport Lounge for Pets

a woman blow drying a dogGood morning from Munich. We’re making our way to Myanmar and just completed our first flight. Next up is a flight to Bangkok before flying an hour or so to Mandalay, the first city we’ll be visiting in Myanmar.

In what I’d assume is a great April Fool’s Day joke, Virgin Australia has announced that they will be opening a dedicated airport lounge for pets! Continue reading Virgin Australia Opening Airport Lounge for Pets
