Toilet Paper HolderOver winter break, we spent a night at the Kimpton Palomar in Philadelphia. While checking in, we used the Kimpton Secret Password!

We enjoyed our stay, but it reminded me of a question I’ve had while away from home.

Why do hotels often place the toilet paper holder in such hard to reach places? Continue reading Question: Why Do Hotels Place The Toilet Paper Holder Here?

Over Winter Break 2019 the Michael W Travels family went on a Deep South Road Trip.

Along the way (we live in Brooklyn, NY) we made stops in states like Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, Alabama and North Carolina.

Kim and I wanted to keep this trip as flexible as possible. We didn’t want to be tied down to a set plan of where to overnight. We wanted to be able to stay and enjoy a place longer or return to a missed place on the way back if weather wasn’t on our side. Mini Soap Bottles Could Soon Be Banned At New York Hotels

new yorkA little over a year back I wrote a post wondering, will hotels get rid of mini shampoo bottles.

Over the past few years, we’ve noticed more and more properties offering wall mounted soap and shampoo rather than the mini bottles. While we don’t love this system, it is better for the environment. Continue reading Mini Soap Bottles Could Soon Be Banned At New York Hotels

Bonus Offer: 2X Wyndham Rewards Points On Next 5 Stays

Wyndham RewardsWyndham Rewards used to be a pretty straight-forward program. A one night stay at any property used to cost 15,000 points (unless you opted for the cash + points option).

For lower-end  properties this could be a good thing, not so much for their higher end ones. Continue reading Bonus Offer: 2X Wyndham Rewards Points On Next 5 Stays

Earn An Easy 10,000 Bonus Radisson Rewards Points

radisson rewardsOver the years, Radisson Rewards (formerly Club Carlson) points have been quite valuable for our travels.

After the Club Carlson credit card’s 2nd night free benefit went away, their points lost a ton of value. Regardless, we’ve still used our points for stays at some very nice properties.

A couple of days back I received an e-mail about an easy way to earn 10,000 bonus Radisson Rewards points. Continue reading Earn An Easy 10,000 Bonus Radisson Rewards Points
