McDonald’s Taking Reservations for Valentine’s Day

valentines day

Over the years writing my blog, I’ve shared numerous posts about how I love to visit McDonald’s when visiting a new country.

While I do enjoy seeing and trying what local menu items might appear on the McD’s menu, I wouldn’t really call the fast food joint a great place to consider for Valentine’s Day. Continue reading McDonald’s Taking Reservations for Valentine’s Day

Towards the end of each year, I look forward to seeing all of the different lists that come out that name top places to go for the following year.

So far I’ve seen a few such lists:

While these lists are fun to read, Continue reading Fodor’s Places To Go 2016

Most Unusual US Landmarks

US Landmarks
Grand Canyon Skywalk

After coming across USA Today’s list of America’s Quirkiest Attractions, I felt it would be fun to mention a few of my picks.

Soon after, I saw a slideshow from Fodor’s about a related topic. Fodor’s writes about the 10 Most Unusual US Landmarks which I was definitely curious to check out!

Let’s see what kind of landmarks made the cut. Continue reading Most Unusual US Landmarks

Thomas the Train Theme Park Opens in US

Thomas the Train Theme Park

Last summer we were invited to check out construction theme park Diggerland in West Berlin, NJ. (You can check out my review of the park here.)

It’s been a little over a year since our visit to Diggerland and Lucas still asks to go there all of the time. We were invited to come again to check out what’s new at the park after they celebrated their first anniversary.

While Lucas still loves diggers and other construction machinery, he’s also a fan of trains. Continue reading Thomas the Train Theme Park Opens in US

Top 10 All-Inclusive Resorts in U.S.

all inclusive resortsI recently wrote a post about Why I Don’t Like All Inclusive Resorts.

The main thing that I don’t like about all- inclusives is that since you’re paying a premium to stay there, you might not be as likely get out and explore the area. Then again, many times the resort is the attraction in the area.

Fodor’s came up with a slideshow of what they consider the 10 Best All- Inclusive Resorts in the US. Continue reading Top 10 All-Inclusive Resorts in U.S.

Win A Lux Trip to Goa, India

Goa IndiaIndia’s been at or near the top of my list of countries to visit for quite some time but I’m not sure when the time will come for me to visit. The problem is that a trip to India will require a decent amount of time. Also, Kim is not so interested in going.

Harper’s Bazaar is giving away a trip to Goa India.

While the prize only comes with a four-night stay, winning a trip there would be a great way to finally make it to India (although only for a short visit…) Continue reading Win A Lux Trip to Goa, India

Fodor’s Places To Go List 2015

places to go

Have you been thinking about where to travel next year? We’re pretty much booked up through the summer of 2015 already!

With the new year just days away it seems appropriate that I just came across another places to go list for 2015.

I’ve posted a few lists like:

While I love reading places to go lists, they don’t tend to influence where we go. That’s based more-so on visiting places we haven’t been to yet as well as award availability and coming across great deals/ mistake fares. Continue reading Fodor’s Places To Go List 2015

10 Best Halloween Celebrations in U.S.

halloween usa

Halloween can be a really fun day for all ages. Growing up I always looked forward to this ghoulish day but as I got older, (like most I’d assume) I became less  enthusiastic about it.

In my adult life I’ve only dressed up a handful of times that I can recall. I dressed up as a baseball player, in my idea of traditional German clothing (not what I’ve worn to Oktoberfest) and DJ Lance from Yo Gabba Gabba. I may have left out one other time that I’ve dressed up but I can’t think of what I dressed as. Continue reading 10 Best Halloween Celebrations in U.S.

10 Things Not to Do at Disney World

image: Disney World

Disney World isn’t a place that I have much of a desire to visit but due to a special little guy, I might just have to suck it up and go at some point in the not so distant future.

I had the chance to visit Disneyland in California when I was around 10 or 11 years old but have never been to Disney World. I don’t really remember much about my visit to Disneyland so to me that speaks volumes to say how little I probably enjoyed it. Continue reading 10 Things Not to Do at Disney World
