United Airlines Wants Us To Help Them Get Flights to Cuba

United Airlines

There are many US airlines which have submitted applications to have the right to fly to Cuba. (Cranky Flier has a post with a list of all of the airlines and routes they’re requesting to fly.)

United Airlines is looking to be awarded a bunch of routes to Havana and is also looking to us for some help. Continue reading United Airlines Wants Us To Help Them Get Flights to Cuba

Up to 6,000 Bonus Miles with United MileagePlus Shopping

United MileagePlus Shopping

Last week Southwest  Airlines sent me a targeted offer to earn 3,000 bonus points for completing a spend of $6,000 or more by a specified date.

Yesterday I wrote about a holiday bonus offer I received from AAdvantage eShopping. The same day I received AA’s offer, I received a shopping bonus offer from United MileagePlus Shopping (for Lucas’ account).

With the offer you can earn a lot of miles but you’ll need to do a decent amount of spending to earn the full bonus. Continue reading Up to 6,000 Bonus Miles with United MileagePlus Shopping

MileagePlus Dining VIP Status After 2 Dines + 750 Bonus Miles

MileagePlus Dining

(Don’t forgetenter to win a free Gogo Inflight Internet pass from Michael W Travels.)

Airline and hotel dining programs are a great way to earn bonus miles but the problem I come across with them is a lack of decent restaurants that participate close to home.

I just received an offer from United’s MileagePlus Dining which can make using the program much more worthwhile (and rewarding) through 2016.

With the offer I can earn VIP status after just 2 dines plus earn 750 bonus miles. Continue reading MileagePlus Dining VIP Status After 2 Dines + 750 Bonus Miles

United Airlines Is In NYC’s Penn Station + Win A Trip to Hawaii

United Airlines

In late June, United Airlines opened a customer service center at New York City’s historic train station, Penn Station.

When I came across this news, (although I was a bit late to hear about it) I thought it sounded like an interesting idea. But, why would an airline need a customer service center at a train station??? Continue reading United Airlines Is In NYC’s Penn Station + Win A Trip to Hawaii

United Airlines CEO: Extra Fees Here To Stay

United Airlines CEONobody likes paying extra fees. Travel can be pricey enough unless you know the tricks to save on flights, hotels and other things…

When paying for that flight, there can now be many other extra fees involved. Don’t have status or the right credit card, you’ll pay a fee for checked bags. Want to pick your seat, that will cost you. Maybe you need to change your flight, yes chances are- it will cost you…

It would be nice to see these extra fees go away but one major US airline says the fees are here to stay. Continue reading United Airlines CEO: Extra Fees Here To Stay

United Airlines To Fly Planes Powered By Food Scraps, Animal Fat & Farm Waste

United AirlinesI just came across some very interesting info on a way that United Airlines plans to save some money while also going a bit green.

United plans to “fly planes powered by a biofuel made from food scraps (among other household waste), farm waste and animal fat” according to Grub Street.

This sounds like a great way to take recycling to a new level. Continue reading United Airlines To Fly Planes Powered By Food Scraps, Animal Fat & Farm Waste

United Flight Diverted, Passengers Sleep on Floor At Airport

Flight Delays

Last week I wrote about a United Airlines flight which diverted to Goose Bay, Canada. The passengers got stuck for close to 24 hours and had to sleep in cold military barracks.

Now, just about a week later, a similar situation seems to have happened once again… Another United flight was diverted, this time due to an unruly passenger, leaving 269 passengers stuck for close to a full day. Continue reading United Flight Diverted, Passengers Sleep on Floor At Airport
