Airline and hotel dining programs are a great way to earn bonus miles but the problem I come across with them is a lack of decent restaurants that participate close to home.
I just received an offer from United’s MileagePlus Dining which can make using the program much more worthwhile (and rewarding) through 2016.
With the offer I can earn VIP status after just 2 dines plus earn 750 bonus miles.
The only problem is that to take advantage of this offer, I’ll have to complete both of the dines within the next two weeks.
Dining out through MIleagePlus Dining usually earns you 3 miles per dollar. With VIP status I can earn 5 miles per dollar which is 60% more. It usually takes 12 dines to earn the status but with this offer it would only take two which is making me think I should try to go for the offer.
The other nice part is that I’ll also earn 750 bonus miles!
According to the terms, “This bonus offer is by invitation only for select existing MileagePlus DiningSM members“. So this means that it’s a targeted offer…
Some Rules: (from the offer e-mail)
- To qualify, you must have a dining profile, including creating a web login, and remain opted in to receive emails from MileagePlus Dining with a valid, deliverable email address.
- To be awarded VIP status in MileagePlus Dining and earn 750 bonus award miles, you must have 2 qualified transactions between October 21, 2015 at 12:00 a.m. Eastern time and November 4, 2015 at 11:59 p.m. Eastern time, at any participating restaurant, bar, or club.
- Limit one bonus-qualifying visit per restaurant per day.
Did you receive this offer from MileagePlus Dining? If so, do you plan to go for it?
I’m planning to do a search on MileagePlus Dining to see if any new restaurants were added. If I can find a couple of decent ones close to home, maybe I’ll make an effort to complete this offer.
